The Central Bank of Nigeria has warned that there may be increase in interest rate and a little adjustment to the already stable macroeconomics
during the next general election.

CBN Governor Lamido Sanusi said there is no way Nigerian politicians could be stopped from spending and the adverse effect of huge spending would be stronger on the economy during the electioneering period.

Speaking at the first national risk management conference with the theme" our ever-changing risk context" Sanusi urged banks to stand firm to their responsibility of managing the financial risks that may emaciate the economy.

He added that sound risk management is the secret of sustainability in the
banking business.
