If you are a citizen of the state, you have two options, become a muslim and pay Zakat.. Stay non muslim and pay jizya. The jizya ensures that the muslim army fights for your protection, even when there is a draft, you can not be forced into the army. For your information, muslims pay a higher percentage for the zakat tax.

You are dodging evidence from history and the quran that shows clearly that muslims did not convert forcibly. Look at syria, lebanon, Egypt, for christian populationa.. Look at morocco, yemen for jewish populations... India.. hindu. Populations that have existed for thousands of years. Jews migrated in their numbers to muslim lands from europe.

In contrast, non christian populations found it very hard to live in Europe. See spain... before the christians took spain, there was a thriving community of different religions. When they conquered,jews were expelled, muslims were expelled or forced to convert. This took hundreds of years so you can't say maybe it was one or two bad governments. Even when they signed a treaty to allow the muslims practise, they broke it.

You can't argue with the evidence of history. It is absolutely prohibited in Islam to forcibly convert.

Why are you reveling in the past? Why is reversed the case now. The populations of Muslims in non-Muslim lands are sky rocketing (and more want in) while the populations of non-Muslims in Muslim lands are shrinking.

Is something wrong with Muslims in Muslim lands? What were they doing before that they are not doing now?

violence in history. it only seems like that because Islam being a total
package, blurs the lines between politics/state and religion. when we
practice it right, it can be really beautiful and vice versa.
'christian' Europe has had its fair share of bloodshed in history before
setting up the current so called secular system. they have had their
100 years war, 30 years war etc. which if not outright religious wars, had
strong religious undertones. pope Urban declared the start of the
crusades which were reknowned for the unusual barbarity of crusading
armies. protestants still fight Catholics in northern Ireland.

the British empire that westernized societies, subtly established Christianity using schools and missionaries, and introduced secularism/democracy, was not established by diplomatic means but by brute force of ready, well armed, trained and disciplined soldiers.


the established Islamic state recognizes only Abrahamic religions: Islam, Judaism, and Christianity. adherents of other religions can go elsewhere to live and practice their religion, it is not by force. there's no need to be apologetic about this.
