GRENADA:OPERATION URGENT FURY, THE FULL STORY

Brief History of the Grenadian Revolution spanning the time period between March 13th 1979 and October 19th 1983. Cold War tension builds as the Peoples Revolutionary Government of Grenada develops close ties with Cuba and the Soviet Union. The Peoples Revolutionary Armed Forces of Grenada are armed and trained by Soviet Bloc Allies as Cuba assists with construction of a large runway financed by the Soviet Union. Fractional fighting among Communist Party members leads to civil unrest on October 19th 1983. The Peoples Revolutionary Army opens fire on unarmed civilians. The Prime Minister and several of his Cabinet Members are executed. The PRA enforces a 24 hour "Shoot to kill" curfew.
