Ultimatum: Gov. Okorocha gives contractors 6 mths to complete 27 General Hospitals

The governor of Imo, Rochas Okorocha, is not pleased with the sluggishness of the contractors in charge of constructing the 27 ultra-modern General Hospitals in all the 27 local government areas of Imo.

Last weekend, the governor inspected one of the construction sites in Agbala, Owerri North local government area of the state, and was so upset that he gave all the contractors only six months to complete the work and hand them over to the state government. He said any contractor who fails to deliver by the end of the deadline would face a revocation.

Okorocha emphasised that the vision of his government is to ensure that the health sector is a destination for all sick persons in other geo–political zones of the country. He told the contractors that he would not tolerate any delay of his “Rescue Mission”.

The Imo governor described as unacceptable, a situation where the projects are still experiencing delays despite the fact that the state government had given the contractors the entire enabling environment, including funds to execute the projects.
