What Has Sule Lamido Really Achieved In Jigawa State? by Inik(m): 12:52pm On May 30, 2013
We keep hearing his name being bandied around as a possible presidential candidate in 2015, governor Rotimi Amechi's present political woes stepped up a notch higher when campaign posters were posted everywhere showing him as the running mate to this man. Ex-president Obasanjo recently has come out openly to say that Sule lamido is the man that will move Nigeria foward in 2015. For us in southern Nigeria, Jigawa state is more or less a huge desert where nothing works, the state is relatively obscure and is rarely mentioned in National news.

What has governor Sule lamido really achieved in Jigawa that makes him a presidential material?

Nairalanders who are from Jigawa or are resident in the state should please list his achievements and post pictures of his completed projects here. We need evidences so that we can make informed decisions, you never know someone might decide to jump ship and move over to his side.

I guess you are right but if he is adopted by a political party tomorrow, you will find followers of that party singing his praises up and down this forum

well...if he is adopted by anyone, the Lagos press might be willing to roll up their sleeves and expose the good and dirt about him/jigawa

but then again praise singing is not unusual...apart from laying the foundation of a 5 start hotel, I bet you Jonathan's achievement in Bayelsa included ....i'll brb cheesy

Sule Lamido for the past few years has been groomed to become a future President of Nigeria, whether that would be 2015 or not can't say but he will be up there when a Northerner takes over. Under his leadership Jigawa State is growing and he has improved greatly the infrastructures in the state.

I am particularly happy for his vision in educating more women in the state as a means to reduce poverty. In the long run this is the real solution to violence in the North and he has focused greatly to make it work. He has one of the highest budget allocation on education in the country and that is no mean feat. So yes he is a Presidential material.

Thanks for the link. His focus on education is commendable cos the levels of illiteracy in the north is quite high. I think he needs to speak out against the almajiri system.

If service delivery, physical problem solving and
empathetic instrumental allocation of public
resources are dearer to you than the more elitist,
carefully choreographed dance of strategic statecraft
you will love what Lamido has done in and to
Jigawa.

That you people are searching for his achievements shows he is not the best Nigeria can get. Governor fashola's achievements are not searched before being seen. Governor Akpabio's achievements are very visible. Even oshomole's achievements are visible. So why are people proposing someone who has not been able to make a mark for himself as a presidential material.

The most important achievement of lamido is that

The most important achievement of lamido is that he is from the north. That is the reason they are proposing him. Very pathetic.

The likes of Senator Bala who happens to be the current FCT Minister comes to mind.

Senator Bala is hoping to contest for Bauchi Governorship after which he will be banded as potential Presidential candidate prior to his lofty ambitions, Bala was nobody before getting a chance at the National Assembly.

I could go further on how he became a minister today but I don't have the time or energy to discuss mediocre achievers like him.

One of negative things about Sule lamido is that he is an Obasanjo boy, he is not his own man. If he ever comes into power he will be controlled by the Sango ota general.
