was in a chemist shop where i watched a doctor speak abt fibroid on tv. had a discussion with d chemist on d cause of fibroid. he said fibroid is a growth in a woman's womb. there r hormones responsible for developing a baby in the womb. when a baby is not forthcoming early enough, these hormones malfunction and start developing fibroid. hw true?

So true! It's the case with me and some women I know. Late marriage and late conception - there's no vacuum in nature, there's the claim, they say if baby no grow for belle something must to grow . God help us women

I have friends who discovered they had massive fibroids in their early 20s and had to operate it. I also have aunties in their 40s who have never been pregnant and they don't have fibroid so apart from age, hereditary plays a major role.

genetics r there things those that r genetically prone can do to reduce their chances of having it? maybe diet or exercise. and is surgery the best solution for those that have it or are there herbs that dissolve it?

U go ask Dr google that one o! Drs will tell u early pregnancy and child bearing prevents it to some extent. some people claimed to have had theirs removed with local herbs. Don't know how true and possible this is. Surgery is widely used even though most fibroids grow back if there is no conception within a long time.

Sad. Why should a lady's health be at risk for late marriage/pregnancy? and the society is not helping matters with the amount of money spent for marriage, and the stigma on having a child outside wedlock. If the ladies r aware of this, then they should stand up to protect their health.

Constant tamperin wt ones womb trigger d growth of fibroid. At a point, one of d doc adviced nt 2 allow any doct tampers wt my womb again bt it wz already too late as d fibroid hd startd growin. Neither my mum nor any of my elder sis's hs fibroid. Concernin takin herbs dt cld dissolve it, my candid advice 2 any one havin fibroid is 2 avoid takin any herbs as any herbs dt cld dissolve is also capable of damagin ur womb as well.
