Former Head of State and Leader of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), General Muhammadu Buhari has said that the newly formed All Progressive Change (APC) will win the presidential elections come 2015.

Speaking at a conference of opposition parties with the theme: “A Decade of Democracy: A Region at Crossroads”, and formal unveiling of APC in Kagoro, southern part of Kaduna State yesterday, Buhari said Nigerians have suffered enough from PDP’s bad leadership and insecurity in the country, and are now yearning for change.
“The problems that the southern Kaduna people are facing and indeed many communities in the North are as a result of poor leadership.
“They are caused by poor leadership and bad governance.
“Since 2007, I told many people that the only way we can defeat and kick the PDP out of government at all levels is by coming together under one platform.
“With what is happening in southern Kaduna, I want everyone that is here to go back to his state and constituency and sensitise the people so that together, we can deliver Nigerians from the hands of misrule,” Buhari said.
While unveiling the APC emblem, the leader of the CPC said, “We’re going to win in 2015. We have confidence in it. How much our states earned from 1999 to date and what did is the level of development and infrastructure?
“The railway, industries and so many companies have all gone because of outright theft in the system.
“So, between now and 2015, we’ve great job to do and by God’s willing, we shall make it,” Buhari added.
Nasarawa State governor Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, urged the people of southern Kaduna and the state as a whole to borrow a leaf from what happened in his state in 2011 if there must be change.
“This meeting is national but with the acceptance of APC by the people of southern Kaduna, APC will take over Kaduna State in 2015.
“There has been decay in the system and it’s now time for all of us to come together and seize power from the PDP.
“We’ve to denounce our unfruitful support to a party that has left us undeveloped.
“It’s time for us to believe that we’ve leaders we can trust.
“APC has no discrimination on tribe and religion and we believed that with APC, Nigeria will regain its status,” he said.
Former governor of Benue State and Senate Minority Leader George Akume said, “When we founded the PDP it was a beautiful bride but it later changed and we had to abandon it.
“Since civil war, we’ve not wasted lives like the way it’s happening under the PDP leadership.”
Leader of Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) and former governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu said the southern Kaduna conference was the first of its kind in the history of the APC which signifies that come 2015, Kaduna and indeed Nigeria will be ruled by APC.
Tinubu, represented at the gathering by Alhaji Musa Gwadebe, a former minister of labour, said, “We’re sure that APC will take over the leadership of this country in 2015. I urge the people of southern Kaduna to stick on their resolve for change.”
Others present at the event include: former Chief of Naval staff, Vice Admiral Ibrahim Iko; Sen. Solomon Ewuga; Sen. MD Yusuf, representing Kaduna Central; Alhaji Buba Galadima; Maitaimaki Tom Maiyashi; Brig. Gen. Lawal Jaáfaru Isa, a former military governor of Kaduna State; Gen. Ahmed Abdullahi Aboki; Engr. Magaji Abdullahi; Alhaji Hassan Lawal; Former FCT Minister Malam Nasiru El-Rufai and opposition party members from the Kaduna State House of Assembly.

The PDP is finished. It is a house highly and irrevocably divided against itself. The members may actually even fully decimate and neutralize themselves before the election.

Desperation in the "nest of killers" is increasing and we all know what follows acute frustration given that the PDP is home to many hardened killers who only know how to destroy "obstacles". Mikeansy, the APC manifesto has been out since April. It would be better if you look for it rather than speak as if it does not exist or as if the APC is not bothered to tell Nigerians what they plan for them when issues could be that your mind is made up already. Your disinterest in seeking something that exists, only to speak as if it does not, is perhaps proof of that.

Assuming you really want to know what the APC has to say, it would have been impossible to miss that they have released their manifesto for public perusal since many news sources ran highlights of some of the key points of the APC manifesto at the time. I would like to believe you were not on Mars to have missed noticing.

The All Progressives Congress says it will probe how various administrations from 2000 to 2013 managed the nation’s oil revenue.

The APC, which was formed by three main opposition parties, the Action Congress of Nigeria, the Congress for Progressive Change, the All Nigeria Peoples Party, and a faction of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, stated this in its manifesto obtained by our correspondent in Abuja on Friday.

In the manifesto, the party said it would pursue an eight-cardinal programme, including war against corruption, food security, accelerated power supply, integrated transport network, free education, devolution of power, accelerated economic growth and affordable health care.

On the war against corruption, it said, “We shall negotiate oil deals, unveil the secrecy surrounding the ownership of 49 per cent of the Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas, query the over N50tn oil revenue which accrued to the Federation Account between 2000 and 2013 and recover billions of US dollars which Ministries, Departments and Agencies failed to remit to the Federation Account.”

The Peoples Democratic Party administrations of Olusegun Obasanjo, Umaru Yar’Adua and Goodluck Jonathan, have been ruling the country since 1999.

The APC also promised to strengthen the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission and make them independent.

The party said it would review public service rules and financial regulations, which encourage impropriety in public finances.

The APC stated that it would move for the removal of the immunity clause in the constitution, which protects the President, vice-president, governors and deputy governors from prosecution while in office.

It said, “APC in government shall muster the political will to wage strident war against corruption; otherwise, our post-oil economy will be disastrous.

“It is our considered view that none of our cardinal programmes will succeed if the current level of corruption and looting going on in the land is allowed to continue.

“We shall plug all leakages which accelerate monumental corruption, recover looted funds, cap and trim unwarranted allowances to public office holders.”

The APC said it had adopted for its manifesto some recommendations of the defunct Electoral Reform Committee, known as Muhammadu Uwais Panel, set up by the late President Umaru Yar’Adua.

The recommendations that will be adopted include “making the appointment of the chairman and top officials of the National and State Electoral Commissions public” and that the “Burden of Proof shall rest on the Electoral Commissioners.”

On the power sector, the APC said it would pursue the expansion of electricity generation and distribution of up to 40,000 megawatts in the four to eight years of its administration.

The APC said it would encourage an amendment of the constitution with a view to decentralising the police and expanding local content.

This clown killed his shallow speech by making reference to railway and investment. Its a known fact that we have never had this level of positive economic outlook which has been confirmed by both local and international organisation.

Buhari should fire his campaign manager for not editing his 2007 campaign message as regard to the Nigerian economy. For if he had done that he must have realised that those his economic doom predictions won't sell in 2013.

Is that all you took from the article? I would not have put you as one of those who only comment on the title without reading the article but that is precisely what you have done here. If you want to obtain the full manifesto of the APC, there are better ways to go about doing so instead of writing things that leaves objective folk immediately conscious of the notion that you are not really interested in the manifesto of the APC.
