As Nigerians worldwide, we must speak out and condemn the beheading of a citizen in the UK. The crime was done by a British citizen and not a Nigerian as speculated. His name does not confirm his nationality. He was born in the UK; never been to Nigeria, was issued a UK birth certificate, holds a British passport. Suddenly they now call him a Nigerian? Michael 'Mujahid' Adeboloja with an accomplice beheaded a British Soldier in Woolwich, London. But there is Gabriel Agbonlahor playing for Aston Villa;, Andrew Osagie, UK's reigning 800m champion; Lawrence Okoye, British discus record holder (68.24m); Abiodun Oyepitan, British Gold & Silver medalist; Christine Ohuruogu, Beijing Olympic British Gold Medalist; Eniola Aluko, British Olympic female football star; Temi Fagbenle, British Olympic Basketball queen; and several other thousands of British citizens with Nigerian links who are making the UK proud, which they(UK) take credits for but reject the uncalled for(s). Looney Mujahid's heinous crime is being made to look like Nigeria is at it again. But in truth, it was a homegrown British boy who beheaded a British soldier yesterday. Nigeria should just be left out of this. It is our collective duty as BRAND NIGERIA to re-broadcast this to educate the world.
