Reports reaching us indicates that the Igbariam campus of Anambra State University experienced students some riot this morning. We heard things have died down a bit.

The cause of riot may not be unconnected with an incident of armed robbery attack that happened last night. We gathered that the robbers invaded the students' lodge last night to rob and they ended up shooting quite a few students. One student died last night, while another one who was shot died early this morning in the hospital.

Some students decided the best way to respond to the incident was to riot against the school and state government, blaming lack of security for their fellow students' deaths.

This is the reason i hate off campus system. If the State Government cannot provide adequate security for their students living outside the school, why don't they provide accommodation inside the school? So sad!

These robbers will soon attract heavy sharp machetes if they do not repent. Over the years robbers in anambra have met terrible ends in different uprisings like "boys oye" in the seventies and early eighties and devastating bloodshed that "bakassi boys" dished out to them in the late nineties.

I'm sniffing another major purge of criminal elements in anambra state, this time for a twenty years the criminal will still be talking about it in fear.
