REVEALED: How APC Plans To Win 2015 Presidency •moves To Capture Kano, Rivers by Shine1177: 7:38pm On Jun 09, 2013
NEWLY formed opposition political party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has mapped out a formidable strategy to dislodge the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from power come 2015, Sunday Tribune can reveal.

Despite that the opposition party has, for sometime, blocked avenues of information leakage as a result of the embarrassing experience it had over the issue of its registration, some dissidents in the party who are embittered by possible flocking of PDP members into the APC unwittingly revealed the grand plan to Sunday Tribune.

According to the plan, the opposition has created a geopolitical map of Nigeria with marking of areas of its strength and weaknesses. The first approach, which is already in operation, is the targeting of the major electoral and population centres of the federation with a view to securing plurality advantage over the ruling party’s candidate in 2015.

It was learnt that the map specifically targets Kano and Lagos states, as the two most populous in the country with a likely combined strength of between 12 and 14 million votes. As the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) already controls Lagos, the opposition is reported to be investing heavily in snatching Kano from the ruling party, a reason said to be behind the ongoing push to get the Kano State governor to defect to the APC
Insight into the plan also revealed that the pressure on Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso to defect has grown so much that the governor is alleged to be in communication with General Muhammadu Buahri. A defection by Kwankwaso, it was gathered, would leave the opposition with the control of three dominant political caucuses in Kano State, namely the Buhari group, the Ibrahim Shekarau group and the Kwankwasiya group of Governor Kwankwaso.

The opposition, with such control, could then claim close to 80 per cent of the votes in the state. While the governor is yet to embrace the signals, reports indicated that collaboration may have gone far ahead as recent interactions among the trio of the state governor, Buhari and Senator Bola Tinubu indicated.

The map, aside focusing on the population centres, also reportedly identifies the core North, spreading from upper North-East to North-West and the South-West, including parts of Edo and Delta axis as zones of influence. The listed states include Sokoto, Kebbi, Zamfara, Jigawa, Borno, Yobe, Niger, Kano, Katsina, Kaduna, Bauchi and Gombe, including parts of Adamawa. The document indicates that the opposition is banking on the cult, like support of General Buhari and planned defection by some PDP chieftains to its fold.

For the South, the political map is said to include the six states of the South-West, namely Osun, Oyo, Ogun, Lagos, Ekiti and Ondo, in addition to Edo and a substantial part of Delta State where the document believes opposition support is growing on a daily basis. The expectation is that the alleged marginalisation of the Yoruba in the Goodluck Jonathan-led government will dissuade any Yoruba voter from supporting him come 2015, just as the strategists also hold that the core North will politically work against the president as a group.

The optimism of the opposition on the South-West, Sunday Tribune learnt, has been strengthened by the rift between the president and former President Olusegun Obasanjo. The opposition is said to believe that the anger within Obasanjo group in the South-West will work to its (opposition’s) advantage.

Are the yorubas marginalized?
The last time I checked PDP zoned position of House speaker to the west, ACN connived with Northern elements to elect a Northern Speaker, now both the senate and the house of rep are headed by northerners because the west thinks it is better to trade the No 4 position on the land for an opportunity to cry of Marginalization.

You are an imbe! Do you understand...? Who cares if a Yoruba is made the CBN governor? We are talking about real values added to the people of SW in general through people oriented projects, not all those personal benefits/appointments that a few ass lickers get from corrupt politicians in Aso rock.

Point to me a project in SW that we can't point to as a landmark in South West from GEJ lead FG. Nothing...

Only SE people are so shortsighted and selfish to see marginalization as not appointing greedy politicians into political post. I pity Igbos...

The Good Governance Tour to Lagos and SW wud burst d bubble of many of u Clowns; personali, I can't wait..

You make me laugh villager...

Resuscitation of which railway? That railway has been working since I came to Lagos to serve as corp member for NYSC. Those dirty couches have been there carrying people from Agbado to Lagos. Aregbe has been using the rail line since the time he was contesting for governorship in Osun state - 2007. Tell me the value GEJ added to the rail system between Lagos and anywhere with those dirty coal driven trains that still ply the old rail line. Did GEJ add a new lane to the railway between Lagos and Kano or what? Did GEJ now launch electric train suitable for anybody to use for inter-state travel?

Tell me something sensible man.

And which Lagos-Kano road are you talking about villager? The only road that links Lagos directly with north is Lagos-Ibadan express road which is still in a terrible state. Ordinary patching of the road, GEJ government couldn't do it.

If I may ask, which village are you based?

Brand new domestic airport? Which one? That smelly tent is what you call brand new airport. And the patching of the MM International airport? Do you think all of us are villagers who don't know what a government in this age and time should do? A government built MM International Airport in 1970s and in 2000 we can't build something that will be 10 times larger and better. Even if you have never traveled out of your village, you should have access to TV to see what a modern airport should look like - check out Dubai, South Africa, etc not to talk of Western Countries.

Man, shut up your ignorant mouth before you get people annoyed here. GEJ government is finding it difficult to even patch Lagos/Apapa express road. Is patching an already constructed road a project? This is maintenance of an existing road. Is the road redesigned?

You mentioned one of the major projects by Lagos state government - Lagos-badagry road. This is a World Bank supported Lagos State government road project. FG has got nothing to do with this and you can't in anyway make this a federal government project because someone in Abuja is aware of the arrangement between Lagos and Worldbank. It is not a GEJ initiative. The money for the project is not from GEJ lead FG. So, what should bring in FG or GEJ name in here. Should we also say Ya adua constructed the Lekki/Ikoyi suspension link bridge for sacrificing some FG government properties in Ikoyi? Man, don't muddle up the discussion here - focus on GEJ projects, and not a project initiated, designed and funded (any how) by the state.

Which 50% contribution is this villager talking about? Can you explain how FG gave Lagos the money you are talking about here? How much is the money? If FG gives Lagos her statutory allocation for whatever, how is that GEJ's achievement? Is there an initiative from FG for Secondary schools, etc and funded directly by FG in Lagos? Should we also praise GEJ for giving Lagos her monthly subvention?

Anyway, thank you Fashola for not allowing those charlatans to come to Lagos in the name of the nonsense called Bad Governance tour of GEJ ass lickers.
