This is what is called 'Medicine after Dead'. Is there any relevance of this document now? Our major concern now is how to tackle insecurity/corruption and forge ahead, we are really lagging behind the world in terms of everything with the exeption of corruption. May God help us.

the list is not completed until you include ooni of ife because there was a fight between him and MKO due to state creation and MKO oppose it.

Abali1: Madam-Oringo said that Igbos hate MKO ABIOLA. Abegi how many NOTABLE Igbo politicians past and present signed the document?
How many NOTABLE Yoruba Politicians past and present signed the document?
How many NOTABLE Hausa politicians past and present signed the document?
How many NOTABLE South-South politicians past and present signed the document?
How many NOTABLE Middle-Belt politicians past and present signed the document?

When you argue do so with an objective mind and not with Pre-biased mind.
You are on point. The hatred on Igbos by other tribes in Nigeria is inborn.

OBJ is neck deep in every controversy in Nigeria. And he is the only one the always survives. He is the major glue of the criminal enterprise of criminal minded politicians. The sooner he is gone, the better for Nigeria. This guy is a real menace. I wonder how he sleeps at night. He has caused so much atrocity. Mtscheew!

If d shoe were on the other foot based on MKO's antecedents... he would have done the same to....

That is the MKO we all know... yes he won that election fair and square....no doubt....

But the evil me do always lives after them....

When IBB cancelled the 1st round of primaries, it was MKO going around as messenger of peace, telling them Gen. Yar Adua and co to let by gones be by gones.....

People always forget where they defecated.....Word.....Yes MKO won the election but his past caught up with him...d same people he eat and dined with.... turned round to pay him back with the same coins he payed other people in the past.....

Its called KARMA.....

Thats how I see it....

The past moulds the future, I used to think, but in Nigeria, the past means nothing, for instance, all the regimes since the historic June 12 have tried killing the memories and even lessons of that historic election. Shonekan was a stooge of Baabangida who stepped aside with a plan B to reposess the office as a civilian president, Abachsa took over to prevent Babandida from coming back, Abdulsalami came in and Foreclosed June 12, while Obasanjo tried to erase June 12 from the face of history - he adopted May 29, instead of June 12 as his democracy day, but he forget that it was June 12 that made him civilian president.
But Abacha who was said to have written his Sandhurst College project on “ambush” was posturing as a defender of democracy and thus conned even notable politicians who urged him to take over from Shonekan as Head of the ING.
grin

Are the other co-conspirators that signed either dead or alive even without "project ambush" any different These self recycling criminals are still in power today thereby continuing to mortgage the future of nigerian masses!

The misleading thing about this report is that it does not specifically identify the document that was signed. For those of us that were old enough and still remember what happened, the report is not accurate.

The committee of 34 eminent persons was not responsible for the annulment. The annulment was already done on June 23 and a decree to that effect already gazetted. In his broadcast, IBB intended that a new election would hold immediately but excluding abiola and tofa and their running mates. He then unbanned ciroma, Yaradua, falae and co who he had earlier banned from contesting for president.

The political class kicked against immediate election and in July 1993, the president set up the committee of 34 to resolve the impasse chaired by the then vice president Aikhomu and included representatives of the Armed forces ruling council, armed forces consultative assembly -David Mark and others, transition ruling council - shonekan and others and the two political parties -sdp and nrc -anenih, kusamotu, ikimi, sule lamido and others.

The committee resolved that the new election could not hold immediately in time for the military to hand over on August 27 1993 but instead fixed the election for early 1994 but with a provision that the transition ruling council headed by shonekan which was earlier set up in January 1993 and had been ruling the country in quasi military-civilian arrangement since then should be expanded and transformed to interim national government effective from August 27 1993. That is the content of the document signed by the committee.

Note that as from January 1993 and as at June 12, all states were being governed by civilian government and there was already the national assembly sitting at federal level with transition ruling council headed by shonekan serving as executive arm all under IBB and Aikhomu. It was the report of the committee that IBB took to the national assembly for ratification in his famous "step aside" address in August 1993.

Even when it is a barefaced truth that Abiola was betrayed by his people and his allies in the North, yet u have inane neanderthals who make who make it a daily Job attaching Abiola's misfortunes to the Igbos.

Bunch of abrasive and perfidious goons since time immemorial.

How can you move forward when you are yet to reconcile with your past? If you don't know your past, how can you predict your future? If you don't know nor learn from your history, it will repeat itself again.
You made sense? Wow. Yeah, when it's personal, it is easy to be logical. Anybody who says anything like "forget your past" will not say that if it was personal; except of course he wishes to bury his misdeeds of the past.

YESOO BRO THEIR AIM WAS TO TOTALLY DECLARE THE COUNTRY AS ISLAMIC REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA AND EVEN THE INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITIES WOULD HAVE SUPPORTED IT BECAUSE OF THE COMBINATION.

I DON PRAY THAT WE WILL EVEN HAVE MUSLIM PRESIDENT AGAIN IN THIS COUNTRY, BECAUSE DURING THEIR TENURES THEY WERE BUSY BUYING ARMS AND AMMUNITION TO FIGHT BELIEVERS,

SO HELP US LORD, WE BELIEVE YOU CAN DO IT, DO YOU DO THINGS IN YOUR OWN WAY BEYOND HUMAN UNDERSTANDING THAT WAS WHY YOU USED EGYPT, ASSYRIA AND BABYLON TO CHASTISE AND DISCIPLINE THE HEBREWS THEN. WE PRAY THAT ALL THOSE MUSLIM PRESIDENTS WERE CHASTISEMENT AND IT IS ENOUGH BE THEY YORUBA OR HAUSA FULANI.

AMEN, LORD AMEN.
