I was watching a new movie last night on some channel with Rita Dominic and Yemi Blaq. I have to say that the film was really well produced. The picture and sound was as good as any Hollywood production, there wasn't a blooper in sight either!!! The costume design was good also. I was very impressed with the very noticable improvement in Nollywood. Hopefully it will keep improving and eventually attract a more internatioinal audience. |

It was a movie that favoured a female point of view. There was no witchcraft or anything involved. It was a good movie and I enjoyed watching it. By the way Yorubas' produced and directed it if that has anything to with it. |

@sara j i'm sorry but i fell asleep reading the 1st sentence of ur post. Female point of view, i think i've seen a lot of nollywood dramas(not films or movies) to get the point. @Shola2009 ur right, i think hollywood movies can take up to a year or more before they are released. E.g Pirates of the Carribean 4 is coming out in 2011 |

Most Nollywood movies are CRAP but there are some producers/directors that make excellent movies. Notable amongst these are Tunde Kelani, Tade Ogidan, Kingsley Ogoro etc and some few others. Pick up a movie by any of these people and u'll realise it's not all gloom for Nollywood. |

@ Efepro This producers/directors are still very much around. It's just that their films are not the normal nollywood 'run of the mill' films that are shot in two weeks, so it takes them months/years to release their films. Take Tunde Kelani (Mainframe productions) for example. He does extensive research & involves reputable academicians in his films/ productions. Surely, u dont expect him to release a film every 2 weeks do u? As for the issue of people still buying the crappy nollywood films, it's called choice. If u no buy, others go buy. C'est fini. |
