There are many who have (including european and lebanese businessmen). The Ministry of Internal Affairs usually conducts a ceremony every year where the applicants are given Nigerian citizenship.

Reasons. Most of the applicants have been in Nigeria for decades and have worked either in the private sector or government. They also understand the culture and language and want to enjoy the benefits and privileges of being a citizen of the country they call home.
