Etche Distances Self From Visit To Amaechi

Etche people acting under the umbrella of Etche United Voice
(EUV) have distanced themselves from what they described as “shameless solidarity visit by paid employees from the area to Governor Chibuike Amaechi recently.

This was contained in a statement signed by Gashon Bob Achor, the president of the group, and Martins Amadi, the publicity secretary and made available to newsmen. According to them, “Ogbakor Etche is the only umbrella organization authorized to represent or speak for Etche ethnic nationality on topical issues concerning Etche.

They said, “Etche people are highly disappointed in the assemblage of Governor Amaechi employees who paid a recent solidarity visit to him in the name of Etche”. We are
further disappointed that chiefs were deceived by the two council chairmen who funded the said solidarity visit using Etche ethnic as an umbrella”. The group dissociated Etche from the “unauthorized solidarity visit that was designed to promote the paid employees of Governor Amaechi in Etche”, adding that Etche people and the entire Rivers people should ignore and disregard this shameful visit.

“Etche people have been misled by this group of employees for a very long time and will no longer allow themselves to be deceived". They called on the general public to disregard the said visit as the visit does not in anyway represent the views and opinions of Etche people.
