First Lady Patience Jonathan has slammed those describing her office as unconstitutionally, saying it cannot be separated from the Presidency.

The first lady, through her media aide, Ayo Oshinlu, was yesterday reacting to a newspaper editorial that criticised her for speaking from a podium with the nation’s official seal two years ago.

According to Mrs Jonathan, her office, just like American First Lady Michelle Obama’s, derives from the Presidency and has responsibilities to discharge, whether ceremonial or official, in order to “smoothen the operations of the president and the Presidency”.
