This should be put in perspective

This is not samba footie but a match between two 'european' teams
As brazil used physicality and pressing the spaces to frustrate the spainish

They were also clinical

In my opinion this brazil as it is will make the qtr final

To play three further games (win the qf and ultimately the cup)
The following must be in place at least;

Barrin injuries

- Neymar must bulk up

- oscar must build up his stamina and shooting accuracy
I feel he can be the final tripod just like in 2002 (the 3 Rs) oscar neymar and fred

If this can be so, he will be lethal in the knock out stages
In 2010 luis fabiano was cancelled out robinho and kaka did not step up

- they need a backup striker so that fred will not be overused

- lucas moura nneds to be activated.. That guy gats skills mehn

- A lot of luck

My humble submiSsion

I tip germany and italy (who played well this tourney and will learnm theiR lessons), spain.

Argentina too dependent on meSsi
Portugal too dependent on ronnie

now before they run these page to the end of the world ; i gat to tell them so called football analyst wat the hate to hear

let get some fact out now!

Spain will always find it very difficult to beat Nigeria

Spain is still a good team

Nigeria should have beaten Spain if all the chance were taken

with the way eagle play now no team in this world will have it easy NO team i repeat

Eagle can beat anybody when they get it right; so pass that to ur mallam in nff

Brazil with all the noise arent quite there yet; do u know their people never believe their team will go this far! all of a sudden they are switching around like typical naijas

From now on Spain might change the way they play football; i mean team like Nigeria will start to get respect! gbam; no more business as usual

Brazil will not have it easy at world cup; that home crowd aint gona have it easy like they did

most of their spirit come from the home crowd anyway

Thaiti make our group so easy to decide; if it were a stronger team maybe things could have be very easy

so wat all these noise about how good Brazil were!

people are over estimating them

can u now see how good eagle were that even the BBC commentaries couldnt believe the eagles were pressing the euro world champions as they did

I beg pack well, ur eagle good dem no beat Spain.
You think sey Spain na 9ja wey u go score just one goal u go think sey u don win?

FIFA must take disciplinary action against Brazil for humiliating Spain in the #Confeds. World Champions should be defeated respectfully.

Questions that keep coming to my mind:

1, Were Oscar a Spaniard, will he make Spain's first 11?

2, Were Fabregas a Brazilian, will he not make Brazil's first 11?

3, Oscar is at best only a little better than our own Victor Moses, will VM have made Brazilian national team?

4, Will Mikel Obi make the first team (i.e first 11+3 sure sub) of any national team in the world, Brazil, England, Argentina and Spain in particular?

Get this in your skull.
You cannot compare Spain with the Super Eagle, but a clueless like u won't agree...

You no fit compare Spain mentality with that of Nigeria

Despite the fact that Spain has scored 3 goals against the Super Eagle, they're still playing as if they are losing. If possible they can score more goals.

That is the difference between advanced countries and third world countries in the mentality.
Your Super Eagle are good, so why dem no beat the Spaniards?

The reason why no African nation has won the world cup is not because we don't have good players but because of our psychology to life generally.

Your own SUPER EAGLES once they score a goal, they will want to show themselves, show off as if they've won, and begin they show their shoulder even if they score 2 goals.

I beg, don’t compare Spain with Nigeria Super Eagles O!

If u don't know Spain na no 1 in FIFA rank, Brazil na 22, your Super Eagle na what rank?

So, whats ur debate all about?
Your point is Super Eagle can beat Spain because they're good, but dem no beat the Spain when they met them?

Don't mind that woman football analyzer at first she boasted that Spain would outplay Brazil in the second half and win the match, now that Brazil have bleeped her and Spain from behind she is castigating the tournament.

The cup was not important to them, why did they participate, won their first match, 2-1, second match 10-0, third match 3-0, semifinal by penalty shootout. Played in the final and was BANGED from behind 3-0. Have Spain won the cup before?

For her information other countries have won the cup before at least in 2003 , France defeated Cameroun 1-0 goal from Thiery Henry, to win the cup, Argentina have also won the cup. People should comment on what they know instead of misinforming others online.

One thing she should know is that, apart from the England that invested the round leather game, the best football nation is Brazil. They sleep, wake, work, eat, drink and play football. They read every second in a match and play many patterns in the field. Never mind FIFA ranking , Brazil is in no 22 but still they are the best.

Italy exposed Spain by not allowing them to settle with football, Brazil copied it and improved their pattern by not allowing them to control the ball, forced them to be running like them, knowing that majority of the Spanish players are old.

She have to respect the Brazilians when football is mentioned. Mama-gee, please continue watching football and not analyzing ok.

The fall and fall of "Tiki Taka" first it was Barca now Spain. Both Barca and Spain need to think out something real fast if they are to stand anychance of silverwear next season and 2014worldcup respectively, cos teams have figured out how to counter their Tiki Taka style of play.

1. No, Oscar will not make Spain 11
2. Yes, Cesc will start for Brazil
3. Oscar is miles beter than Victor Moses,Oscar plays a mature brand of football, while VM might have potential, but still very poor in his decision making
4. maybe England and Argentina, But no to Spain and Brazil.

These are questions meant for a football manager because only he can decide his team makeup and they depend on a few factors like current form and fitness, strategy and formation etc.

However, I believe
1. Oscar will make the first 11-15 of the spanish team if he were a spaniard. He's like the Fabregas of the Brazillian team: a great passer, a good tactical dribbler with great ball control, a good shooter with a good vision and he's good at holding possession.

2. Fabregas will definitely make the Brazillian first 11-15 or he is good enough to make the squad. Although on current form, his perfomance has not been good enough.

3. Victor Moses doubles as a supporting/second striker and winger. He doesn't play as CM, AM, like Oscar. Oscar is a better player than VM; he can be deployed to the wings as a makeshift winger, he can play as a central midfielder and an attacking midfielder, he's a better dribbler, a better passer of the ball and has better control + first touch.
There are various players like Victor moses in the Brazillian League and many leagues all over the world but they didn't make the Brazillian team. I dont expect VM to

4. About Mikel- I don't know but I personally believe he'll suit the spanish/barca pattern of gameplay. He's a tiki-taka kind of footballer. In short he's a world class midfielder, judging by his perfomances during the confeds, he perfomed exceptionally well.

I AM SO HAPPY THAT REAL FOOTBALL IS BACK. I HAVE HAD ENOUGH OF EM' SPANISH SHORT PASSING GAME. I WANT THE 90'S FOOTBALL BACK. THE ONE ON ONE PLAY, LONG PASSING, 1-2 FREE FLOWING BALL AND NOT THE BS THE SPANISH TEAM HAS INFECTED FOOTBALL WITH. I HOPE ALL FOOTBALL TEAMS LEARN FROM BRAZILS BLUE PRINT. YOU CAN'T ALLOW SPAIN TO PASS THE BALL AROUN( I HATE THAT STYLE OF PLAY)
Re: Brazil Vs Spain - Confederations Cup Final (3 - 0) On 30th June 2013 by killusnow: 4:31pm On Jul 01, 2013
When spain won the 2008 euro it was like "oh look! they play amazing, its nice, they were sympatic to the football comunity" when they won wc 2010 it was " well, not that impressive, they only pass the ball, etc" when they won 2012 people was really bored to see same team winning everything, at club and national team level, ppl started to hate them and they were just waiting for this to happen to throw all their hate at spanish squad.

Spanish players have dominated football at all levels for the past 10 years, its imposible to keep at the top forever, barca/madrid players have played league, cup, and champions league for all these years, it have been a shitload of matches every year playing at the max level in the best competitions, but time goes on they get older and more important mentally overloaded, players are humans not machines.

For the boring argue, what is boring is when a team goes and put the bus in their field, refusing to play, thats not spains fault, even when they are losing to spain they still refuse to play, refuse to pressure refuse to try win. Some spain games have been amazing, definetly one of the best teams ever, of course u cant play all games like that, and mostly as i said when the opossing team is packing 10 guys defending.

Its not like teams find out how to play vs spain, its just they are lowering their level of play, they played all confecup walking, 0 physical intensity. U can see the barca performance on champions league this year, losing 2-0 in milan to a mediocre milan, having lot of troubles versus paris saint germain that is a very normal team, and getting destroyed by bayern, did they get countered by all those teams? not really, their performance is just going down, and it will be worse on next world cup if they dont replace with youngers players.

kobonaire: football experts, please explain this to me. How was the Neymar's goal not ruled offside? He was in an Offside position initially and then came back onside but still per my understanding of the rules cannot be the first to receive the ball from his teammate right? Or am I misunderstanding the rule here, please educate me. Thanks

It is simple. When Oscar passed the ball, he wasn't in an offside position. When Oscar wanted to pass the ball, Neymar came back from the offside position. So when Oscar passed the ball he wasn't.

Simply if ball is passed and you are in an off side position = OFFSIDE

If ball is passed and your not in an offside positon = ONSIDE, NO OFFSIDE. What happened in between doesn't matter.

scottpirlo24: I have been following your comments on sports matters, I must say you understand football more than most of pple here who talks shit ........ Sum will sing praises now abt a team , next minute dey say the team is bad, regarding the game.... Physical approach to tika tika team like spain make dem lose depth , looking at the game brazil were more compacted ... Neutralised the Spanish final third ..... Spain is a world class just need more tech approach to their game cos pple are ready to run and use their energy to win the ball back

I agree with you. Their style needs review. Also, it is time some competition is allowed. Other players like Fabregas and Silva needs to play more games. There was a reason why Coach Guardiola reverted to the false 9 formation. It was so that they wouldn't be outnumbered in the midfield.

Finally youngsters like Pedro Leon, Isco and Thiago need to be blooded in.

Johnsinia: Spain will only win if they concentrate more on goals instead of baseless tiki taka, and also have a very tight defence, if nt they will lose up to 3-0 against Brasil. Brasil is very good up front while spain looks wanting, this is why samba is better than tiki taka.
