onila: Sudanese Beauty

Onila, this is your most beautiful thread I must say, but make I correct you on dis one my sister. cheesy

The lady above isn't Sudanese, she's Kenyan. Her name is Lupita Nyong'o, an actress, a filmmaker, and she's also the daughter of a former cabinet Minister and current Kisumu County Senator Prof. Anyang Nyong'o.

She also uses her filming work to speak out against prejudices towards albinos in a continent where the rest of us do nothing but put them down in an attempt to feel good about our miserable selves without even caring to understand why albinos are the way they are. We call them names, we stare at them with disgust, we avoid having them as friends lest we too become stigmatized, we use their body parts for rituals/fetish practices, we disown them when they are our siblings/relatives, we reject their romantic advances, we turn down their job applications once they show up for interviews, we label them "ugly"; all these because of a congenital disorder that they were born with and can do nothing about.

Lupita speaks out for them. She is beautiful both inside and out. kiss
