Cure For Persistent Back Pain? by judano: 4:16am On Jul 04, 2013
I have been having this persistent back pain for some years now. It is really difficult to pin point when it started because it developed very slowly over the years. However, the pain has become almost unbearable since 2012. I feel pain at the back of my neck and a little below it. The whole muscles at my shoulder blades feel very stiff and painful. As a result, I cannot sit for too long (say 1 hour) without standing up to stretch and twist.

I exercise often (sit ups, push ups, jogging, etc). At first, people said I didn't exercise often and this must have been the cause. I have increased my exercise routine to no avail. I also go for massage. Most depressing is that doctors I have complained to have no lasting solutions (It must have been caused by my work as I use my laptop quite often, they said but I cannot give up my profession)

Recently, I took some skeletal muscle relaxants recommended by a pharmacist. As long as I took this, the pain/stiffness is under control. But when I stopped, it returned gradually and within 4 days, I was back to same spot. Moreover, these medicines made me drink much more water than I am comfortable with.

I have searched online for remedy but most websites are talking of lower back pain/ waist pain which is not my problem at all. My fear is that it will become even more unbearable as I get older so I need to nip it in the bud now.

Please, any specialists I could take my case to? Any practical solutions to these pains that won't go away?

Maybe you should go for an X-ray. A very good specialist hospital should have answers.

X-Ray is for bone fracture or thoracic infection abi? At least I expect a doctor to suggest that if I am to do it. I very much doubt this can be detected by X-Ray. It seems like I already know the cause: my frequent bending over. But then, I don't bend nor sit still half as much as bankers. The challenge is to find a permanent solution.
