pls i want experiences on both cars, as i intend to buy any of these two. though i prefer the jetta. pls i need good contributions, as this is my first buy.

Depends on your type of car user type you are; if you are the regular 9-5 working user with a not so high maintenance budget for your cars i'd advice you go for the camry.

Here in nigeria, the older Jettas(which this falls into) has come across as a tougher to maintain car. Most of its frequent problems are:
- over heating
- Problematic Air conditioning system
- interior panel label paint coatings peeling off.

However, a few people have manged to use this same car here, and not had problems with the car....except item-3 above(that's a must).

So if you are one of those that don't compromise on their cars maintainance - go for the jetta. Its more fun to drive.
If you aren't bothered with keen maintenance - go for the camry...Toyota's are considerate when it comes to our bad maintenance culture here

good contribution viper, though i am currently a 9-5 worker. but will soon start a rotational job offshore. which will b suitable for travelling a four hrs journey lets say 2wice or three times a month

Both rides can can do those trips. Both were designed as family sedans for comfort on long trips. It depends largely on your maitenance culture and the type of mech u have currently. If u use the roadside guys, go for the camry. If you can afford the posh sophisticated garages, go for the volks. The jetta is slightly more poweful than the camry though (probably not the v6 camry). U should know what u want in a car bro. If u want the umph (power), go for a v6 camry or the jetta. If u want economy and relatively free and easy maintenance car, go for the camry.

i have been able 2 use a toyota camry tiny light for some yrs. i am conversant with frequent problems like changing of shocks, stabilizer linkage, brake pad after travelling. is the 2006 volkswagen jetta a stronger car in aspects of these?
