Must y'all tribalise all issues? If you don't like his music, no problem, as people have different tastes. But not seeing anything good in a musician because he's not from your tribe? Heck!
When Awilo was the "in-thing" no one complained about not understanding his language. He made good music and we all danced to it though we didn't understood what he was saying.
How is Olamide different for non-yoruba speakers?

Okiki_Oluwa: Nothing concern me with Olamide. Na the graphic artist I wan yarn with. Why did he/she use Olamide's big stone-head to cover the 'streetz' in the name of the magazine. She na style be that? It won't make someone that's seeing the magazine for the 1st time know it's name.
Last Bullet: I m fed up of threads like Toolz, D'banj, Iyanya, P-Square etc on the face of this or that magazine.

Based on one or two kpolokpolo I will ask this question. Who is the best Rappers?? Is it Rugged Man, Mode 9 or the legendary Eedris or MI Abaga. Please name him or her but remember the answer @Olamide_YBNL gives in his track Baddest Nigga Ever Liveth------ Chris Brown was naija won pe won etc the guy even said he is not afta being the best rapper. He is doing is tins his way. Remember, Emi o de lohun bi Wizkid, I for dey voice anything but anyway mati weere bo. And also for your information free this guy as he said NEGATIVE ENERGY WON LOMA PAWON BI CANCER.
Trust me I like the guy for two things which are his THEORIES ON HUZZLING SPIRIT and for the fact that He represents the Street as he plays it hard. He has always being himself and his styles remains one of those that won't fade away easily.

Da Grin with this guy and I doubt if you understand Yoruba. Like wtf?

Which one do you wanna talk about? A part from Pon Pon what is da grin? Check out Ghost mode(Phyno and Olamide), Omo to shan (Wizkid and Olamide), Anti social (Morell and Olamide), Ilefo Iluminati(Olamide), Voice of the Street(olamide), Light in the air(Olamide), First of all(Olamide), Baddo love (Olamide), Durosoke(Olamide). . .Where do you even want to start the comparison?

This guy is out of this world, I hate saying this cos I don't even like him as a person. But lyrics and flow? no one does it better than him presently. Just check out comments from YouTube.

story... To start with, I see the guy b4 you calling him the best rapper in afrika, Lol.. He's not even the best rapper in yoruba land let alone nigeria, you do hip hop that only one tribe understand and you said he's continental, Lol.. Big LoL

In one blog I saw someone saying he should rep naija in rap battle against south africa, what da hell, who will understand this guy?

I still maintain my stand that the guy is no where comparable to late dagrin, he actually has what to say(lyrics) but doesn't know how to say it as a rapper, he just shout with no style, the guy is wack, is not all about flow but how to flow it

No point wasting time on that guy. I know exactly how people like him are in real life. And I don't even think he's a Yoruba. Atleast those of us old enough and still loyal to the game can still identify lyrical geniuses when we come across any. Right from the era of easy e, ice cube, Dr.dre down to biggie smalls, 2 Pac, xzibit, DMX, Ja rule to when toy rappers like Kanye WEST are mounting the stage. Here we have to talk about the likes of Mode 9, Ruggedy baba, Nigga raw, 2 short, Eedris Abdulkarim, M.I, Lord of Ajasa, Da Grin. Mode 9 should be the fore runner, but he's not even versatile like olamide.

I always run olamide down not until after watching his free style on Jimmy Jump Off with DJ Jimmy Jatt then it occurred to me that a star is born. You may wanna say you don't like Olamide's style but it will amount to sheer dishonesty to say he's wack. A guy that plays around with words like chewing gum, delivers heavy punchlines with precision and rhymes effortlessly. He's so creative that he can decide to do anything in a single track. He was even asked about the Yoruba stuff, he answered by saying music is a universal language. Goto YouTube and watch VOTS or Young Erikina and read the comments over there.

guy you don't just know anything about rap game, with your explanation and the names you mentioned has already let me know

I wonder why somebody would call olamide the best rapper in nigeria (am not even talking of africa cos dat will be stewpid to say) a country where only few people understands the language he uses, how do you explain to non yorubas that this your olamide is lyrically good, its just like an hausa comedian cracking jokes with hausa and expects me to laugh, how would I know when he said something funny?

As long as hiphop is concerned, olamide can never be crowned, although am struggling up and down to see if he can spit something on my track but that's just for publicity stunt

Therein lies your problem. I know people like you won't have problem with anyone rapping in Jamaican patwa(an Island of just 3 million people). What you are suffering from is known as acute inferiority complex. People like you suffering from low self esteem even have reggae hours across the country, a specific time dedicated to transmit music from a language of just 3 million people while they looked dwon on their brothers. Besides, Olamide did some stuffs using undiluted English like Baddo Love. According to you, a professor of Yoruba or Igbo language shouldn't be accorded respect because they speak local languages?

I'm not Igbo, but I enjoy Flavor's song from A to Z. I'm not French but I enjoyed Awilo.

1st of all, I encourage nigeria rap music more than american rap so I don't have the low self esteem of promoting other people's music, I can listen to jamiacan music and feel good about it maybe because of the beat or the voice but I can never start saying that the jamaican is the best lyricist because I don't even know if what he's saying actually make sense or not

in this case, olamide maybe good in what he does but I get mad when people label him the best in the nation, if you bring olamide who's lyrically good according to you and bring sky b whom every rap head know that is wack and ask them to freestyle, and the judge is m.I,who do you think he will give it to? Sky b ofcourse and no one can quote him wrong because aint no way to know if olamide is good or not

I'm looking for olamide's attention just for a publicity stunt, I've tried wizkid and it didn't work(he's price is much)if I see a means of featuring tonto dikeh I will, she's a wack singer but her presents will do me a lot favour

My best rappers in africa are mode9 and OD,I was spitting like them but not anymore(I still do but on mixtapes) I'm now commercial cause I want to sell records so I'm kinda spit like rugged man, so you see, my looking for olamide is not about his tightness but music hype that's all...

Come to music section(rap battle) that's where I da freestyling
