Chelsea in a statement today acknowledged that they have lodged a bid for Wayne Rooney,but denied that offered up to cash plus player.
Chelsea reportedly offered £10m for Rooney,in addition with an option to have either David Luiz or Juan Mata.
“Chelsea Football Club can confirm that yesterday it made a written offer to Manchester United for the transfer of Wayne Rooney,” Chelsea said in a statement.
”Terms of the offer are confidential, for avoidance of doubt and contrary to what is apparently being briefed to the press in Sydney…”

“The proposed purchase price does not include the transfer or loan of any players from Chelsea to Manchester United.”
No club would want it known they are offering up their players,in order not to unsettle the squad.
So is this a ploy by Manchester United to unsettle the transfer proceedings,when they said that Chelsea offered cash plus player for Rooney?[color=#000099][/color]
