In 1983,Bamanga Tukur was the Governor of the defunct Gongola state (now Adamawa and Taraba ), and 30 years later ,he is today the Chairman of the ruling Party ,the PDP.

.
Dr.Bello Haliru was commissioner in the old Sokoto state (now Sokoto, Zamfara ) and 33 years after he is today the Minister of Defence .

.
Major General David Mark (rtd) was
the military governor of Niger state in 1984 and 28 years later he is today the Senate president .

.
Governor Mutala Yanko was the governor of Niger state in 1976 and 36 years later he is today the Governor of Adamawa state.

.
Ognonnaya Onu was the governor of Abia
state in 1992 and 20 years later after ,he is today the National Chairman of ANPP.

.
Governor David Jonah Jang was the governor of Benue state in 1985 and 27 years after ,he is today the governor of Plateau state.

.
Only in Nigeria is this possible, where the youth of today have no future! Where do we go from here? People Deceive People (PDP).

.
In 1985, IBB was
the president of Nigeria and our teachers told us that Buhari was the former Head of
state ...Our teacher also called us ''the leaders of tomorrow''..27 years later ,IBB and Buhari are still contesting for Presidency..Its either our
teacher lied to us about being the leaders of tomorrow ...Or tomorrow is yet to come .Who is
fooling who? Some of us ran out of the country ,Obasanjo went abroad chasing them ,telling all nations to deport Nigerian
youths. Let us stand and fight for our right because we are the leaders of today...

.
Pleas let all youth come to an alliance and fight for the unborn . We can't continue like this. Pass this to everyone if you believe we are
the leaders of today.

.
ENOUGH IS ENOUGH . I signed it, will you
do the same by sending to all your friends.WE MUST STAND FOR THE RIGHT.MILLIONS OF YOUTHS WHO ARE GRADUATES, MASTERS AND P.H.D HOLDERS ARE OUT THERE WITHOUT ANY JOB, YET THEY ARE BEING BRANDED LEADERS OF
TOMORROW! WHERE IS
TOMORROW WITHOUT TODAY

I feel yah. I've been saying for a while now that it's foolish to talk about Buhari for president in 2013. I mean, seriously?

But because we lack a real history as a people, which is filled with military touts, some folks have no choice but to glamorize idiots because the West and Indians have outstanding leaders from 1000 years back.

Moreover, youths in this country, particularly those in the East (with some support from folks like the then youthful Soyinka) tried, without arms supplied by ENGLAND, to break away from the corrupt design called Nigeria, and form and answer their papa name (Biafra).

Once that was tossed in the latrine, that was the end of a great opportunity for advancement in Africa outside Oyibo involvement.

Now, as opportunity is returning, we have been conditioned to love EPL, Adeboye and WInners and dancing in church with head tie to match, importing "end of discussion", and running to give birth abroad.

Hopefully when people read your thread, some at least can start to see what we've been running our mouths here for years about- to change the ENTIRE setup, from the Ni.gga colonial name we answer, to the way we drive on roads.

Yea,feel the same but it seems that the youths are already caged by those monsters. An average Nigerian is afraid to die,so how do we achieve the better tomorrow?

Newt Gingrich was Speaker of the US House during Clinton's regime, and he contested to be president recently.
John McCain has been in the US senate since eon, and still is.

Some US Senators have been there for 30+ years. Hey!!! John Kerry after more than 27 years in the Senate just became the US Secretary of State (minister of foreign affairs).

In Europe, at least mainland Europe that I am very, very familiar with, politicians are recycled like bottled water container

I agree that Nigerian leaders are recycled, but it is not a Nigerian-only thing.

The recycling seems worst in the North of Nigeria as almost all governors and senators and house of rep members from the south, at least SE, were unknown ten years ago.

Even the 80 years old Ebonyi State Gov was unknown before he became a governor.

Young or old, no single Nigerian leader in recent times has been able to impress in a big way. So age has nothing to do with it.

Thank you my brother!!! Leadership is about Ideology, character and wisdom. It has nothing to do with age. But if age is a factor, it ought to be a possitive one with its attendant wisdom and experience.

We've had some youthful leaders in the past and they turned out to be poster children of failure and corruption! Salisu Buhari, Dimeji Bankole, Hembe, Farouk Lawan, Fani Kayode, and many more.

A wholistic attitudinal change towards governance and even followership is what we need to get to where we desire to be.

Seems like you haven't left the 1980's. Buhari cant arrest even your old mama. By the way, that coupist will not be president, no matter how many times he "clinches" a ticket.

So dont cry about it
