Only Apple's Iphone has gotten away with no mem card & non removeable batteries, htc tried it and failed, Htc keeps making losses, I believe that's what hindered the sales of the one x series and even though the htc one did well at first, sales are crappy now, hasn't come close to s4 sales. But in reality the htc one 32gb or 64gb should be ok for anyone (its a phone for goodness sake), but people just want that option and that's what samsung understands.
More specs sells these days - quad core, 13mp, 2600mAH even though they are not remarkably better than dual core, 8mp or 2000mAH. The Nexus, although quad core, never broke any records cos of limited specs, crappy ba3 & storage even though its cheaper than its competitors.
As for the Moto X, as long as there's 12mp/13mp, 1080res, quad cores out there, it won't break any records and stock android lovers might wanna wait for nexus 5 to see which is better.
People just want more specs these days, even though more is not always better.

If you can wait, when i mean WAIT i mean WAIT, Motorola is already preparing a Moto X Mini for people who can't afford or don't need the major Moto X. And surely it's coming at a subsidized rate.. Am guessing 300-350 dolllars..

The only turn off is the NO SD CARD but a 50GB cloud storage and 16GB/32GB phone memory variants.

My assumption is that it won't get to AFRICA, but it is officially stated that Moto X won't get to EUROPE (confirmed by some oga's at the top in Motorola)
