The Best Of Gov. T.A Orji by Alex32: 2:41pm On Aug 03, 2013
A government without good performance is like a pregnancy without fetus. A lie can take off with the speed of lightening but a lameduck truth will always surmount that speed. These are unconnected to the scorn called governance of Gov. T.A Orji of Abia State, no matter the arsenal of hoodwinkers he surrounds himself with christened media aides who are bent on misleading the general public to believe that the pretenses that are being perpetrated in the state are the true meaning of governance, with their misguided utterances and garrulous carriages. Reading their articles in our prestigious newspapers makes one wants to throw-up because of the mountain of lies and defilements against critics they lace their articles with. These are the best that Gov. Theodore A. Orji can offer. The truth is that the well-meaning people of Abia State knew that the government is good at charade and calling critics names and warping malicious stories against those who write or say contrarily to what the governor wants to hear. This government has been doing to this writer with fictitious names. This government is also bent on using over seven names to circulate just one article. But however it tries in its shallowness to paint black white, the true stories happening in the present Abia State must be told. What this Gov. Orji’s government does not understand is that no amount of assemblages of false articles can hide the truth, no matter the numerous media outfits that are carrying the lies contained in such articles; perhaps the media outfits are oblivious of the intention of the writer(s), because no well-mannered editor or publisher would publish lies and blackmails for anything. The Abia State Government media aides’ articles will continue to imprison the already out-of-shape Gov. T.A Orji and his misshaped government with much deformity. Gov. Orji has to come out from the media dungeon that his so-called media aides have thrown him into in the belief that they are redeeming his ailing image. Jim Morrison warns people like Gov. Orji to come out of the waste-of-time habit of portraying who they are really not, saying that the most important kind of freedom is to be what you really are (without gainsaying). You trade in your reality for a role. You trade in your sense for an act. You give up your ability to feel, and in exchange, put on a mask. There can't be any large-scale revolution until there's a personal revolution, on an individual level. It's got to happen inside first. Hope he knows that our people of Abia State are being provoked by the lies he circulates in the media that his government is the best that has ever happened to that state. And no wonder his is the best in behaving like Columbian chaps, because it is very easy to read that in his media aides’ articles. The in-thing is that Gov. Orji will not be voted for in any elections again in the country or anywhere in the world because he has shown that he is not even fit for a village head. The clothes that were once fitting our people are now loose, because of the headache that Orji is giving them in the cause of governance that has brought untold hardships than ever. A walk from the road that leads from Opopo junction to Okpakiri of Ogbo Hill axis is like a journey to Golgotha, as one is stressed on bad road because of manmade badness. The same is applicable in all the areas, but here is a governor that is boasting of building dialysis centres and Shoprite, when our people can’t even see any reason for accepting democracy. What causes renal failures that lead people to visit dialysis centre if not bad environment, such that our people have taken much emitting poisons from in this government? Go to our state and ask: Side by side in an election with an insane person, our people would prefer to vote the person instead they will vote for T.A Orji who has caused the state some immorality. His authoritative decisions like the incessant imposition of taxes on the residents are unbecoming of in a governmental segment as democracy. Say Motor Park leadership is what our state has turned to. Other arms of government in the state are seemingly coerced to be rubberstamped while Gov. Orji, his family and minute part of his ubiquitous cronies take the field’s day. Would Gov. Orji also twist the truth that there has never been Local Government Areas’ election since six years he has been reigning as a monarch instead of an elected governor in our state? The levels of blemishes that have characterised Orji’s government are immeasurable. If he doubts that he does not operate as a monarch, why are the people heading these LGAs appointed by him instead of being elected? Do not say that this is one of the conduits through which the state’s money goes down the drains. Orji has refused to bulge for progress; the only progress his government is making is to manufacture nasty stories against anyone who dared pinpointed these facts. But that spiteful behaviour will not deter us, rather such enlivens us to tell the world the true state of Abia State than the crassness he has been fighting hard to seeing that he sells to the unsuspecting publics who had before reading, refused to buy or believe in anything Gov. Orji. The condition, politically, in Abia State in term of true governance, is nothing to write home about. However, our people have refused to be intimidated by Gov. Orji and his anesthetized boys. Structures and good governance they have always told the world that exist in Abia State only exist in the newspapers that they always publish their hocus-pocus. Our people will never give in for the many shrewd antics of labeling this writer and other critics rapists, blackmailers, extortionists, kidnapers and sundry sullied stories. Notwithstanding, these are the only words that Gov. T.A Orji’s media gangsters are good at pronouncing. Gov. Orji has to repent, and desist from misleading the people that he is performing whereas that was daydreaming. He should listen to and, learn from Mahatma Gandhi, who once said: “When I despair, I remember that all through history the way of truth and love have always won. There have been tyrants and murderers, and for a time, they can seem invincible, but in the end, they always fall. Think of it--always.

The Gov has done pretty well in the area of security, Energy distribution, primary and tertiary healthcare, development of human capital through various youth empowerment Programmes, infrastructural development...New essential structures like the workers secretariat, International Conference centre, remodeling of Abia hotels to boost the hospitality and tourism industry, the new high court buildings Umuahia and Aba...the more decent court houses the more judges the more jobs, the new Abia State library headquarters to boost learning and research, the Abia State Specialist and Diagnostic Hospital commended as the best in the entire south east and south south region, the new eye and dialysis centre in Umuahia, the new industrial market Umuahia and Umuahia Modern market to boost commerce and industry also to decongest the Umuahia city centre, the new motor Spare Parts and Mechanic Village at Ohiya Umuahia to create sanity and enhance environmental decency in Umuahia city centre, the new govt house Govt house currently situated in a private and rented property. A functioning skill acquisition centre training about 5000 youths currently. A new broadcasting House (BCA) building, a new JAAC, ASUBEB and Chieftancy affairs complex in Umuahia, A newly built ministry of Justice building in Umuahia, about 250 primary health care centres across the state, partnering with World bank to build Community Social Development program projects as demanded by communities in Abia State, A new House of Assembly Administrative and constituency complex within the HOA premises. A new ASEPA building, ASEPA is currently occupying a rented building, built &commissioned the Amaokwe housing Estate in Umuahia, Isieke, Amaudo and Aso small and medium income housing estates are currently ongoing in Umuahia, massive investment in the environmental sector...Opening up drains in Aba & Umuahia, provision of refuse dump equipment & Trucks etc. The govt has built numerous rural and urban roads in Isukwuato, Ohafia, Bende Umunneochi, Umuahia, Ikwu ano, Isi ala Ngwa etc including the 17 major Aba city roads recently embarked upon...Brass, Milverton, Ngwa Road, Faulks Road, Geometric, Ama Ogbonna, etc. All these are verifiable in addition to massive investment on security of lives and property. ABSG invested over 1.5 billion to evacuate power (electricity) from the Ohiya sub power station after the federal govt built but abandoned it. Power supply has improved in Umuahia and environs leading to massive boost in the small and medium scale enterprises sector. Umuahia, the capital city doesn't get dark at night as a result of the massive investment on street light project. Remember security globally requires huge investment and for Abia State to be known currently as a safe zone, massive investment is being invested to sustain the achievement made so far on security. All these and many more doesn't stop Abia State from having her challenges as a State but the good news is that those developmental challenges are being tackled with the funds available to the State without borrowing. Thank you!

Another health sector first in Abia State

ALL is now set for the Abia State government to score another first as usual with the commissioning of the First Dialysis Centre in South East zone of the country.

The centre which is at the Abia Specialist and Diagnostic Centre Umuahia came into being following the acquisition of the defunct Alaoma Hospital on Aba road through private-public partnership.

It was constructed by international health and specialist group, MECURE of India. Not many believed that the project will come to fruition so soon considering the bitter experiences of private-public partnership projects which in some cases are crisis-ridden, leading to their termination or complete abandonment.

But the Abia Dialysis Centre was different because of the commitment, sincerity and trans-parency on the part of the parties involved, the state government and Mecure International.

The centre, part of the numerous completed and ongoing projects embarked upon by the present government, has been described as a revolution of the health sector, a sector that has been neglected for years, forcing indigenes or residents to seek medicare outside the state.

Announcing the planned commission of the centre recently, after inspecting the equipment installed there, the state governor, Theodore Orji, happily said that all the facilities needed for the take-off of the centre are ready, adding that government is waiting for the technical partners from India who will man the machines.

The state government has also concluded plans on how indigenous health professionals will be trained to work there. With the take-off of the centre, it is obvious that the centre will bring succour to many people suffering from renal problem as they do not need to travel far or outside the country or spend so much money on dialysis, pending when their renal problem will be tackled.

Another good thing about the centre is that majority of doctors and nurses who will be in-charge are Nigerians to be trained for that purpose. There are also enough machines for dialysis to meet the need of patients, unlike the case in several public hospitals. No wonder the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria, MDCN recently approved the centre for medical students’ internship.

Since 2007, the Chief Orji-led government has recorded giant strides in the area of health care delivery in Abia State. So far, the government has equipped and upgraded one hospital in each of the three senatorial zones of the state into a referral hospital for specialist treatment and diagnosis.

It has also undertaken a massive re-equipping and modernisation of the Amachara General Hospital as the pilot hospital for Abia Central Senatorial Zone and the Abia State University Teaching Hospital Aba to serve the people of Abia South Senatorial zone, while the Umunnato General Hospital is to serve as the Specialist Hospital for the Abia North Senatorial Zone.

In the rural areas, the state government is complementing the Federal Government to ensure the attainment of the Millennium Development Goals by building and equipping 250 health centres in various villages in the state. The government has distributed ambulances to 10 local government areas in Abia State to aid in conveying pregnant rural women to the nearest hospital to guarantee safe delivery.

The aim of the government is to ensure that every political ward in the state has a health centre to attend to patients. The government also employed health professionals to manage the hospitals.

As parts of its effort to provide qualitative healthcare to the people, it has embarked on the construction of an auditorium at the specialist hospital Abayi, Aba for student doctors.

The government has continued to meet its counterpart obligation to partner agencies such as WHO, UNICEF and has continued to support the Ministry of Health in its campaigns and other activities aimed at keeping Abia state polio free. In addition, it has also undertaken massive refurbishing and expansion works at the School of Health Technology, Aba, the School of Nursing, Umuahia and the Uzuakoli Tuberculosis and Leprosy Centre.

With the completion of Centre, the present government in the state has set another pace in the health care delivery in the country. A rare feat other state governments might soon aspire to achieve, because the Dialysis Centre on taking off might witness beehive of activities especially from patients from southeast zone.
