Nigerian Paralympian and gold medalist in the London 2012
Paralympics, Joy Onaolapo , is dead. Onaolapo won gold in the
52kg powerlifting category.
She died in her home town in Edo state. The Head Coach,
Nigeria Power Lifting Federation (NPLF), Are Feyisetan
confirmed her death. She left behind a husband and two
children.
Feyisetan said that the federation had yet to be fully briefed on
the cause of the death of the athlete, who was with the Edo State
Sport Council.
