I have noted that most Algerian pictures depict land forces on defensive mode. They'll be firing behind erected cover (mostly). Do you guys run on a "dig-up and defend" doctrine?

WTF? We donated 450 Samil Trucks to Uganda? This is wrong, very wrong.

If standard procedures were followed, they weren't entirely free of charge.

The Ugandan government would still have to pay all shipping costs, plus the cost of refurbishing the vehicles until they reach a standard that they can be approved for export.

Depending on the terms of the agreement, Uganda may have also been asked to pay for any additional inventories of parts they'll need to keep the SAMILs running.

It's common for the SANDF to donate large numbers of vehicles to another country, which must then cough up additional funds for the associated logistics, transport, and refurbishment. A third party contractor like OTT Technologies, Mechanology, or Paramount Group is then brought in to handle all of that, and profits accordingly.

For example when the SANDF committed to donate 90 SAMILs and Ratel-90s to the CAR, they were never shipped because the latter had happily agreed to the "donation" without taking into account they would have to foot the bill for dozens of cargo flights into Bangui, the refurbishing of the vehicles to meet certain export standards, and all the associated parts and 90mm ammunition, which were not being provided and would have to be bought separately.

Naturally the CAR had insufficient funds for all of the above, so the vehicles were sitting on an airstrip somewhere and were finally claimed by the third party contractor as compensation for their troubles.

FG should free the Tucanos from uncle Sam if their senators will keep blocking sales. We should focus on somewhere else.

CAS TOURS NAF OPERATIONAL FACILITIES, COMMISSIONS RESIDENTIAL ACCOMMODATION

The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, today, alongside selected Branch Chiefs at Headquarters Nigerian Air Force (NAF), undertook visits to operational facilities at the Nigerian Air Force Bases in Makurdi and Kainji. The essence of the visit was to monitor the state of the facilities, most of which are critical to the maintenance of the fighter aircraft being employed in the ongoing counterinsurgency operations against the Boko Haram insurgents and other subversive elements in Nigeria. During the visit, Air Marshal Abubakar found most of the equipment to be in a satisfactory state and commended the personnel for their dedication to duty. The CAS also harped on the need for senior personnel to intensify efforts at mentoring the younger ones through in-house training.

The CAS seized the opportunity to commission three blocks of 10 x 1 Recruits Transit Accommodation for airmen and airwomen in Makurdi. The newly commissioned building would be used to accommodate 120 recruits upon completing the basic military training in Kaduna. Similarly, at Kainji, the CAS commissioned three blocks of 6 x 2-bedroom flats for Senior Non-Commissioned Officers to further reduce the accommodation challenge in the Service. In addition, he commissioned the newly renovated and furnished Technicians' Crew Room to aid service delivery. While being interviewed, Air Marshal Abubakar expressed his belief that "the human being is the most important resource and every effort must be made to ensure his/her comfort towards increasing productivity". He added that his belief had been vindicated with the number of aircraft that had been reactivated by NAF personnel, among other numerous achievements.

It is recalled that the NAF recently expanded its training facilities for initial training in Kaduna to enable the training of 3,500 recruits per session. It therefore became necessary to ensure adequate residential accommodation for the recruits upon deployment to NAF units across the country.

one of the scenario used the most in exercises is an attack from an armored division with air support from borders ( like a moroccan attack for exemple grin )

, a conventional war , so first step of the exercise is to stop the ennemy in the defensif lines in borders ( pics you r talking about) ,
wait for reinforcements , destroy the attack then launch a large scale counter attack go and destroy ennemy in deep of his territory
