The MNJTF wishes to warn individuals still associated with Boko Haram to surrender themselves for demobilization and rehabilitation, while the opportunity still exists...
After all what they have done...why will any right thinking government do that.
Obviously you have not been an uneducated, poor teenager living far from a big city or the western world but you need to use your imagination as to how one could be a supporter of Boko Haram without committing any crimes ...yet.

Are technicals not too vulnerable and ineffective ? Why does this seem common among West African armies? Seen it with Malians I think.
In 2018 Nigeria purchased alone, Nigeria purchased 207 units of APCs.

Streit Typhoon MRAP - 87 units

Streit Spartan APC - 90 units

Proforce Defence MRAP - 30 units.

No army in Africa can fund a fully mechanized force. For motorized units, Nigerian army gun trucks provide significant advantages. They are always heavily armed, the Landcruizer is the best vehicle to use in dry and desert regions like you see in the Northeast.

French Special Forces use the same vehicles in their own operations.

Speed, mobility and immense firepower are the advantages the Land cruiser provides.

What we need ideally is a tribunal for EVERYONE with clear simple rules! In a week or two max, your application is approved or denied-shotties,pistols,rifles and auto weapons but nothing military grade,ie above .50 BMG. If misused even once heavy jail time and permanent blacklisting.
I think in the revised rules application for a licence is 2k and will be paid online through the E-citizen platform just like you would when applying of passport, or certificate of good conduct which is also required to get the licence, and also a Drs leter from a public hospital declaring that you are sane(ish).... If all goes week it shouldn't take more than 2 months...

I am however curious about how you go about once you have a licence and want to order your gun from outside the country...

‪#HappeningNow: The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, is at the Regiment Training Centre Kaduna today, 15 March 2019, for the graduation ceremony of Special Forces (SF) Course 4/2019, comprising 175 personnel; the first set to be trained by Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Instructors. The ceremony featured ‘Krav Maga’ (unarmed combat), weapon handling and R&grin displays as well as the simulation of a coordinated assault on an enemy location conducted by the graduating SF personnel. The new accoutrements and insignias for the NAF Regiment as well as the new name of the NAF SF - ‘the PANTHERS’ - were also unveiled during the event. ‬In the past 4 years, NAF has significantly boosted the capacity of its Regiment speciality and more than tripled its SF strength, thereby enhancing operations in the fight against insurgency and other forms of criminality, while also improving its Base Defence/force protection capability. Details later

true but I think IVM G12 would also be great and can even replace the cruiser .

The G12 cannot replace the landcruiser in that role in the northern region. That particular land cruiser is purpose built to work in extremely harsh environment.

The GI2 can only replace the land cruiser if it is deeply adapted for those conditions.

What do you mean by this?

If you mean tracked, no army in the world is completely tracked - that kind of ORBAT doesn't make sense. If you mean armored, then there are plenty of countries in Africa that are fully armored... South Africa, Algeria, Egypt and many others have moved away from using soft skinned vehicles (with obvious exceptions for SF).

I mean fully armoured. Algeria isn't fully armoured, neither is Egypt, South-Africa hasn't deployed in as much number as Egypt, Nigeria and Algeria post apartheid to be fully accessed. The SANDF use Land cruiser as far as i know.

I do agree that the 3 above mentioned countries can deploy lots of armour compared to others but transporting all their troops in armour is not possible.

Dont know what do you mean with fully armored . no country can have only armored vehicules fot its different tasks

But in case of classic war . algeria have two big armored division (1st armored division in the east , 8th armored division in the west , and 3 brigades (7, 9, 41 ) in other regions fully armored . without talking about other mechanized infantry divisions and brigades . same for egyptian army wich have more armoured divisions and brigades

No mechanised division or brigade will include soft skins or trucks etc in it's ORBAT other than for rear guard duties like logistics or administrative functions.

Frontal contact elements included are MBT, APC , IFV , SPG where the transport cum fight elements are the APC and IFV.

Generally tracked vehicles r preferred but depending of the terrain and role wheeled APC or IFV will be included/used.

Every single South African Infantry battalion (motorized) is 100% armored - be it in Ratels (1 200), Casspirs (370) or Mamba's (440). The landcruisers are used for border duties where there is zero risk of ambush or mines.

So like I said, 100% armored. Deployment is a non-starter, they have the equipment and when they deploy they deploy with it.

Funny grin . algerian army is a big piece even for a NATO coalition scale attack and their loss would be huge, thats why that they did not try the algeria adventure like in lybie, syria ect ... And you are saying that Your little israel can attack algeria easily any time any day grin ? Israel cant engage a war far from its country . they only know to defend themselves inside there small country for a week or two at best and cry waiting USA support .

Anuway thats not the subject of this thread
