Nigerian Army goes from old and boring to TACTICOOL in an instant

Whenever the word 'Nigerian Military' is mentioned the first impression people gets is an old, dilapidated, corrupt, inefficient and unprofessional military force, Just exactly like their role model the old defunct Soviet Union but unlike the Soviets the Nigerian forces has been largely updated due to their current battle against the Boko-Haram terrorist (BHT).

Wtf is up with bh and motorcyles?

All you guys seem to find is bikes

If i were a nigerian, i would set up a bike import buisness in the NE

Something tells me there is going to be a huge demand when this is all over.

Also: new model russian ammo cans (silver not green, plastic not wax paper, no manufacturer markings). Thats fvcking dodgy

Regional Senior Military Leaders’ Course Closes in Nairobi

The 13th Regional Senior Military Leaders’ (RSML) Course ended on Friday, 26th February 2016 at the Peace and Conflict Studies School of the International Peace Support Training Centre (IPSTC) in Karen, Nairobi.
Speaking while delivering the final lecture to the participants, the Commander Kenya Army Lieutenant General Leonard Ngondi gave his personal experience when he was a United Nations peacekeeper in Liberia for two years. Lieutenant General Ngondi gave an account of what he had learnt in Liberia and challenged the course participants to make use of the knowledge they had acquired to be better managers of UN and African Union-led missions.
Lieutenant General Ngondi also held a question and answer session with the participants, who asked various questions relating to peacekeeping missions and on best practices.
The RSML course is the senior most course run by the Peace and Conflict Studies School. The 13th edition of the course brought together senior regional military and police officers and their civilian equivalents from 14 countries, namely Burundi, Comoros, Denmark, Djibouti, Egypt, Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi, People’s Republic of China, Rwanda, Somalia, South Sudan, Uganda, and USA.
The course was meant to instill the participants with better skills in planning, managing and conducting peace support operations in United Nations and African Union missions.
This year’s course which commenced on 15th February 2016 was sponsored by the United Kingdom Government through its High Commission in Kenya.

Isn't up-armouring for this sort of vehicle, a Police LAV, excessive?

Unnecessary? Bros Henry, I wish the police had a couple of these armoured vehicles, along with the good ole Saxon and Streit MK2 APCs, for patrols within Borno, Yobe, and Adamawa when the insurgency raged, and during the Abakiliki communal crisis.

We are on our way. Infact, we've come a very long way, and have attained a modern basic standard. I've been sharing photos online for the past 5 years, and i can say we've done very well.

Our Special Forces across the Navy, Air Force and Army are all top of the line.

I agree.

However, I'll veto Streit. If you watched that Proforce documentary, you'll Streit APCs which failed ballistics tests all packed up in the company's compound awaiting re-armouring. In Abaliki Streit APCs also failed policemen, all of them killed, when their APC came under fire.

the army special forces need to ditch that russian camo. there are too many different types.

stanndardization need to be top priority if we want to talk about getting there cos to tell uou the truth, i get irritated when i see our elite men from the army wearing different camos that don't even blend with the environment. it's not professional at all.

hopefully, our top brass have considered it.

Unfortunately, that's going to be impossible. Until we can have a proper channel for military photos, we'll have to make do with what is currently available.

To be honest with you, i'm not worried about our S.F. It is the fact that the guys in the North-East across all services (Army, Navy & Air Force) can deploy a single cammo. This is what gives me joy.

SF cammo isn't a problem.
