Been awhile.
Oops! "grin-week" menstruation had come and gone...
@lionel4power, you don't have to spew all "these" out because we are all frustrated one way or the other with the way things are heading military-wise.
It was these same issues that make Beegeagle's blog a shadow of its former self. Everyone is unhappy with the state of things but, one thing we have to understand and be grateful about is that, with the little and "inconsequential" ones we had, we are managing them well and playing our roles as a regional leader and power.
@henry240, as much as there is sense in what you stated above, i want you to leave that comfort zone of "threat assessment". Our leaders do not have the hallmark of being proactive when even the threat(s) arises. Being patriotic shouldn't becloud our sense of judgement.
Egypt that has the best military in africa "Equipment-wise" are still loathing and eyeing more... North Korea has more weaponry in its arsenal than her population, yet they are still developing 'this and that'.
Why? Because it's better safe than sorry.
You don't stockpiled foodstuff at home because you fear it may finish in the market, you did that to make sure you have it at hand and could take/cook it when the need arises.
Why do we keep some money as Pension? Are we not saving that against the future?
We recharge our lines most times not because we want to call immediately but because it will come in handy when it's time to make the call.

If we base our procurement on "threat assessment", we are doomed and we'll be damned.
We've been making use of Chad and our neighbours as "threat assessment" and this is why we are stucked where we are today.
If our neighbours had the financial clout/power, their military won't be like they are now... They have the "will" to build their military but only their economies are keeping all of them back.
Anyway, we don't need Rafale or Su35, that will simply be ''outta order' for us, we simply need what can deter and keep us safe atleast from aggressive power(s).
@lionel4power, we first of all walk before running.... Our first 'walk' is in the JF17, super mushak, Centenary and unity etc let's start with these and see how we progress though it's at snail speed, but we'll get there.

Let's post on topic please.
