The purpose of this post is not to ridicule these women who have all gone through one failed marriage or the other. They are beautiful, talented and strong and are joined together not just by the glue of finding success on the big screen but they have all gone through marriages that hit the rocks.

Kate Henshaw – Kate is one of the few Nollywood actresses that I personally respect because of her good interpretation of roles and I have been quite in love with her for a while now (wink). This ONGA ambassador was married to a British man, Rodrick Nuttal and they were married for twelve years before the two divorced in November 2011. The union produced a daughter named Ella. As at the time of the break up, the rumour mills had it had that Kate’s busy schedule kept her away from her matrimonial home many times and since her then beau was equally a busy person being the MD of Ledrop Nigeria Limited which is the sole distributor of Jack Daniel’s and Huedsiech Champagne. The two had a crazy schedule and things crumbled in the wake of their careers coming priority.

Fathia Balogun – Who does not know this beautiful Yoruba actress that has starred in so many block buster movies that we can’t help but wonder if she was born to live on screen? This sultry actress has gone through the pain of two failed marriages. She was first married Tunde Anchor and the union produced a son. After her first marriage crashed, the talented actress picked herself together and moved on. She moved into the arms of veteran actor Saheed Balogun but fate was not yet ready to smile on her as the marriage also hit the rocks some years after. Despite the many attempts to bring the two back together by many influential people, the two could not reconcile their difference and Saheed Balogun has since moved on and remarried.

Shan George – Tall, light skinned and beautiful, this outspoken Nollywood actress has been through some pain behind all the fame. The talented single mother of two has been through the traumatic experience of two failed marriages, her first marriage had been at a tender age of 15 which had produced two boys. According to her, her second husband had walked out on her for another woman and despite her two bad experiences from her flirtation with marriage, she is still ready to give marriage a try if the opportunity comes.

Funke Akindele – She shouldn’t be on this list but unfortunately for ‘Jenifa’ her one year old marriage to Kehinde Almaroof Oloyede crashed and she joined the list of other actresses with failed marriages. Hers was announced on social media platform, Facebook when her husband took to his Facebook page to announce their separation. After her marriage crashed, one of the first things the star actress did was to remove her husband’s last name from her social network IDs.

Chika Ike – She is got a body to die for and good looks that would make many other women jealous but it seems being successful or famous and not even her talent could help her keep her man. Chika Ike marriage to Tony Eberiri hit the rocks on allegations of assault and infidelity with the actress filing for divorce. In an interview she granted, the award winning actress said there are some things in marriage that a person might not be able to stand. She further went on to say: “Some people’s limit might not be my limit. My limit might be somebody’s starting point.”

Bukky Wright – She is a woman with so much grace and beauty that one can only wonder what is wrong, this star actress has been in and out of marriage twice. The graduate of Economics believes that her failed marriages has been a lesson and taught her things that cannot be made as mistakes again.

Clarion Chuwkura – Veteran Nollywood actress Clarion Chuwkura has also been through the bitter lesson of a failed marriage. She has been married to veteran musician Sir Shina Peters and the union produced ace music video producer Clarence Peters. Aside Shina Peters, the delectable actress has also been married to the likes of Tunde Abiola and Femi Oduneye. She also believes that egocentricity as the problem of most Nigerian men.
Foluke Daramola – This Yoruba actress is well endowed in the chest region and her acting skills has endeared her to many. The actress was married to activist Kayode Salako before it all came crumbling down like a pack of cards. In a recent interview with Vanguard, the actress admitted that immaturity ruined her marriage.

Stephanie Okereke – If when compiling a list of the best actresses in Nollywood, Stephanie’s name is missing on the list, then that list is an incomplete one. This dark-skinned beauty has impressed us with her acting skills to have carved a niche for herself. Although she is currently married to Linus Idahosa whom she married in grand style in April 2012, Stephanie has been through the ordeal of a failed marriage. She was formerly married to ex-Super Eagles defender, Chikelue Ileonyosi. She married him in 2004 but things went sour in 2007 and the two split and on not so good terms.

Laide Bakare – She also joins the list of notable actresses with a crashed marriage. The Yoruba actress is undoubtedly one of the best in the movie industry when it comes to interpretation of roles and delivery. The actress had long been battling rumours of problems in her marriage but she finally opened up when she walked out on her husband on May 3, 2013. She released a statement through her publicist Folorunsho Hamsat about the separation. The separation brought about allegations of infidelity as her husband Mr. Okunfulire claimed she was sleeping around. Soon after her separation, Laide also moved in with another man, Mr. Tunde Oniowo generating much criticism from her fans.

We can go on and on as the list is endless but these are just a few of the top notch celebs with failed marriages. The likes of Hilda Dokubo, Eucharia Anunobi, Monalisa Chinda, Ayo Adesanya, and Steph Nora Okere also makes the list.

Now that list is not complete without mentioning Stella Damasus, the lady whose marriage crashed due to her inability to keep her legs closed instead choosing to snatch other people's husband. All these failed marriages can be attributed to nothing but infidelity.
