For me,the first problem that can be discerned in philosophy is philosophy itself,in terms of its definition.Since the inception of this profound discipline,suprisingly,there has been no generally or universally accepted definition of philosophy.Philosophy,being basically preoccupied with all reality,yes,I mean all,seems to be comprehended differently.Presumably,this is as a result of the open-mindedness which pervades it and with which it is studied.Having originated from two Greek words,"Philos" and "Sophia" which literally means love of wisdom,philosophy is understood to be the science of ultimate causes of things.Also,it entails asking and answering rational questions about reality,and so on.Inability of philosophy to have one definition is indeed a recurrent problem,in which proffering a final definition will never guarantee it not being repudiated.
