Qur'an (4:34) - "Men are the maintainers of women because Allah has made some of them to excel others and because they spend out of their property; the good women are therefore obedient, guarding the unseen as Allah has guarded; and (as to) those on whose part you fear desertion, admonish them, and leave them alone in the sleeping-places and beat them; then if they obey you, do not seek a way against them; surely Allah is High, Great."

Qur'an (38:44) - "And take in your hand a green branch and beat her with it, and do not break your oath..."

I don't know where the assumption comes from that I'm a Christian. I'm not arguing which of the religion is better. You only heedlessly took offence to my post.
I have posted direct scriptures in your Qur'an to you which you can't disprove. Are you undermining the words in your Qur'an as holy words from Prophet Mohammed or saying Prophet Mohammed was wrong by "lightly" hitting his wife -Aisha?

Bukhari (72:715) - A woman came to Muhammad and begged her to stop her husband from beating her. Her skin was bruised so badly that she it is described as being "greener" than the green veil she was wearing. Muhammad did not admonish her husband, but instead ordered her to return to him and submit to his sexual desires.

Bukhari (72:715) - "Aisha said, 'I have not seen any woman suffering as much as the believing women'"
This is Muhammad's own wife complaining of the abuse that the women of her religions suffer relative to other women. Muhammad did not rebuke the man (from prev scripture posted for beating his wife). In fact, he reproached the women for saying Rahman was impotent. Even though she was hurt Muhammad accepted her bruises and beating because to Muhammad it was not abuse. In Muhammad’s eyes she deserved the beating

Muslim (4:2127) - Muhammad struck his favorite wife, Aisha, in the chest one evening when she left the house without his permission. Aisha narrates, "He struck me on the chest which caused me pain."

Muslim (9:3506) - Muhammad's father-in-laws (Abu Bakr and Umar) amused him by slapping his wives (Aisha and Hafsa) for annoying him. According to the Hadith, the prophet of Islam laughed upon hearing this.


I wouldn't want to pick on your comprehension skills but I posted the link to show that I also read claims from the Imams, the critics and even the young girls affected by the Islamic law.
LMAO! This is actually sad- "Disciplining occurs as a reprimand". What is even more sad, is you quoting that like I'm suppose to rejoice at the fact that as a woman I'm "opportuned" to be punished by my husband as long as its not brutal beating.
I guess it's okay if a husband disciplines/reprimands his wife by light beating as long as it isn't brutal beating.
