*Protests in Idemili APGA over election
ARTICLE | AUGUST 24, 2013 - 4:17PM | BY FRANCIS EMEKA
Prof Charles Chukwuma Soludo
Disqualification of the former CBN boss, Prof Charles Chukwuma Soludo by the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) screening committee last week and his inability to get back to the race through the court may not have sunk his aspiration and ambition to become the next Governor of Anambra State as Daily Times reliably learnt that he is currently sharpening his sword to run on the platform of the Accord Party.

A source close to the erudite Professor of Monetary Economics disclosed to Daily Times that Soludo is still shocked over his disqualification in APGA but said that it will not in any way affect his master’s ambition to serve the good people of Anambra State.

According to him: “Prof Soludo is the most qualified among all the aspirants in APGA and even in other political parties. We are still wondering why APGA screening committee disqualified him. Such disqualification is suspicious even though he said that he will abide by the decision of his party. For those saying that he joined APGA to context for president of the country, that may not be true as he is interested in governorship position. He may contest in Accord or any other political party."

For the CEO, Capital Oil Ltd, Dr Patrick
Ifeanyi Ubah, his defection to Labour Party from APGA has since his defection been raising dust in the party as the founders of LP last Month disowned him as their member shortly after his declaration in Nnewi his home town, Awka and Abuja.

Dr. Ubah while declaring for the party, said that he is leaving APGA for Labour Party because APGA is dead and was crisis ridden.

The quick reconciliation of the Anambra State Governor, Mr Peter Obi and the National Chairman of the party, Chief Victor Umeh shortly after Ubah’s exit is worring the young politician.

In the Labour party, Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah is presently in a power tussle with his kinsman and a Labour Party Governorship aspirant, Mr Peter Nwosu, who accused him of romancing with the wrong faction of the party.

The authentic State chairman of the party, Hon Chukwudi Christopher Okonkwo described the oil mogul as a money bag politician who is hell bent in fuelling crisis in political parties.

Following this development, Ubah is now said to be in a secret romance with the Accord Party stakeholders in Anambra State.

Our Sources revealed that Uba’s relationship with the Honourable Member representing Onitsha South Constituent II in the State House of Assembly, Hon Emeka Iddu linked him (Uba) to Accord Party.

Daily Times also gathered that Uba’s campaign vehicle, Labour Party vehicle and some of his loyalists were sited at Star Gate hotel, Agu Awka during the Accord Party's State Congress held last week at the hotel, a report that was confirmed by the National Vice Chairman, South East of the Accord party, Hon. Inno Igwekwe.

On the part of the Special Advicer to President Jonathan on Technical Matters, Chief Akachukwu Nwankpo, Accord Party is said to be his plan ‘B’ should Senator Andy Ubah succeed in getting the President’s backing as the PDP candidate in Anambra State.

Meanwhile, over 1000 APGA members from Idemili North Local Government Area, of Anambra State comprising men, women and irate youths Saturday besieged the Anambra State APGA Secretariat with placards bearing various inscriptions protesting the plan by a socio-cultural group identified as Ime-Obi Idemili to scuttle the APGA primaries in the area.

Ime-Obi Idemili weekend, as
Daily Times reliably learnt, aborted the APGA primaries in the Local Government Area on the ground that the position of the chairmanship in that area is not contestable.

The socio-cultural group has agreed among themselves that the chairmanship position will be zooned to Ogidi community to favour one of the aspirants, Mr Amechi Ekume.

But, another aspirant, Chief Obi Idemobi who led the delegation to the APGA secretariat, Awka, insisted that the party's constitution of conducting primaries must be adhered to, noting that it is only unpopular candidates that shop for consensus or zooning.

“We are here to register our grievances on the plan by one group who said that chairmanship position in Idemili North is by zooning. Other political parties are not talking of zooning. Now, my question is, why APGA? So, we are here to urge the APGA leaders to come to Idemili and conduct primaries and let the popular candidate emerge through election. We are very peaceful and law abiding and that is why we don’t want to take laws into our hand. Please, let the right thing be done,” he said.

Others who also vented their anger during the protest include the Woman leader of Nkpor ward 11, Mrs Ogochukwu Ezezulu and an APGA chieftain, Chief Okey Anyadiegwu. They regretted that APGA has not been winning elections in Idemili North due to actions of some people who run the party as family matter.http://www.dailytimes.com.ng/article/soludo-ubah-secret-meeting-accord-party

As it stands now, any party Soludo joins is the new Ndiigbo party. Let Peter Obi eat APGA, Soludo will build a new Ndiigbo Party for us. Soludo kai ga eso. Where he goes we go.

GEJ should rig Anambra election if he has 7heads, we shall see if the world won't chase him out of Aso rock even if Nigerians can't. Soludo kai ga eso.

Was this not the same news source that said Jonathan had endorsed Soludo? undecided

Should Soludo try to contest on the platform of another party, his EFCC case may be resuscitated with a ferocious speed.

It looks like 'Operation Stop Soludo' is real. It's not about party or platform.
Re: Soludo, Ubah In Secret Meeting With Accord Party by Bliss4Lyfe(f): 5:28pm On Aug 24, 2013
Who will vote for APGA now? They have managed to divide demselves into two fraction. One half of APGA left with its vote base. That Half of APGA voters are already with APC.

Now Soludo is finding another platform, he will be taking the youths with him? That will be Majority of APGA followers and media campaigners.

Wat does APGA have left? Soludo will build us a new Ndiigbo Party, that will be full of Ndiigbos best and won't fall apart like APGA. It will be the new Ojukwu Party, as Ojukwu was one of Ndiigbo best, a OXFORD Graduate.

It will be the "Real Progressive Party" one that i can be proud to associate with, without making excuses.

Good riddance to APGA

Soludo solution is a must. Soludon 2013.

All I ask for is a chance for Soludo to contest the elections in November.....under any party logo! We can then leave it to the savy Anambra voter to pick who they feel is best able to take them where they ought to be in this 21st century!

The wicked forces gathered against him know in which direction the pendulum will swing come the day, and thus they feel it's expedient to take the 'final say' away from the people and reside it with a few conniving, self-centred bastards in Abuja and Awka.

If Soludo gets the ticket with another party, he should try and calm GEJs nerves over '2015' and Anambra.

^^^Then it would be bloody obvious that GEJ is an immature individual with questionable democratic credentials!

One would then wonder on which moral authority he would come and ask Ndigbo to vote for him in 2015!

That is why I can never fathom how some people reason at all. So you mean to say despite all GEJ overtly and covertly has done to undermine Soludo's aspirations via all the landmines he has in connivance with the regressive forces laid along his path, soludo should still work for GEJ ambition?? Is nt politics a game of mutual interest? So you are telling him to still work at delivering anambra to GEJ/PDP as if Ndi Anambra's political salvation lies with GEJ alone

I don't know is it me or something? anytime I feel that Soludo is not going to be part of this race my heart jumps, with his ambition, even if he does 1/10 of his dream he would have done well.

Soludo should hurry up. There is no time left. He needs to put structures in place. If GEJ thinks he can influence Anambra election like he does south south, he must really be clueless. Anambra politics is bigger than GEJ, he will burn himself if he ventures, as for Peter Obi and APGA, the future will judge. With Soludo we will witness the Rochas okorocha scenario where the people's choice won.

This Soludo saga has revealed how 'smart' our Nairaland Political Analysts are. Soludo can't fight this battle ALONE,and unfortunately the electorate can't help him. The guys in Abuja will rig this election,he needs a person/bloc that can stand up to the Abuja folks.

Another thing bothering my mind is how rich is Soludo? Money means a lot in this battle.

GEJ is not interested in the future of Ibos, he is only interested in his 2015 ambition,
GEJ will not mind if the worst is rigged in as an ibo governor in as much as he has his way in 2015

Thank you! Soludo should join APC to learn how to play politics. Joining backward party is a way of ruining his political destiny. All supporters of soludo should swallow their pride and enjoin him to join APc to have political appointment when APC wins in 2015,and he can as well contest in 2018. There's no proof whatsoever that GEJ is responsible for APGA dropping soludo.
Apart from bayelsa his home state,GEJ has never really influenced the political outcome of any SS state, which is why anti-Gej/Pro-APC Governors like oshiomhole and amaechi have been able to thrive.
So we shouldn't rush into making hasty conclusion.
