Dutch pedophiles are launching a political party to push for a cut in the legal age for sexual relations to 12 from 16 and the legalization of child pornography and sex with animals, sparking widespread outrage.

The Charity, Freedom and Diversity (NVD) party said on its Web site it would be officially registered Wednesday, proclaiming: "We are going to shake The Hague awake!"

The party said it wanted to cut the legal age for sexual relations to 12 and eventually scrap the limit altogether.

"A ban just makes children curious," Ad van den Berg, one of the party's founders, told the Algemeen Dagblad (AD) newspaper.

"We want to make pedophilia the subject of discussion," he said, adding the subject had been a taboo since the 1996 Marc Dutroux child abuse scandal in neighboring Belgium.

"We want to get into parliament so we have a voice. Other politicians only talk about us in a negative sense, as if we were criminals," Van den Berg told Reuters.

The Netherlands, which already has liberal policies on soft drugs, prostitution and gay marriage, was shocked by the plan.

An opinion poll published Tuesday showed that 82 percent wanted the government to do something to stop the new party, while 67 percent said promoting pedophilia should be illegal.

I don't like their ideas either. However, they do have a right to promote whatever they feel like. As long as their actions do not encourage others to break the law.

The funny thing about Nigeria is that the legal age for sexual relationship is 18 (I think) and people break that law all the time without consequence. So, it is one thing to have something written on the books, and it is another thing to actually enforce your laws. I know for a fact that in some regions in the country, Parents marry off their children under the age of 12.

Back to the Dutch group, the age of 16 for sexual relationship is already low by western standards. The only other western country I know of that has a a lower age for sexual consent is Canada, and even that law might have already have been changed since the Conservative party won the national elections over there.

The Dutch authorities ought to wait till all those child-molesters are gathered in one place and then herd them into trains bound for labor camps in Siberia, where they can molest each other till their pekkers freeze off from exposure.

Jakumo, that would be wrong. How do you know that those people are child molesters? It is similar to how many people who are not gay support gay rights. Don't be so quick to judge.

And even if they had inclinations to molest children, as long as they do not elude to it or commit the crime, it would be wrong to punish them. Once you begin letting emotions decide your actions, instead of your brain, you are heading down the part of tyranny.

Afeni, as J-Girl pointed out a 16 year old may appear physically mature, but cannot possibly be expected to assume the responsibilities and mortal risks associated with sexual activity, so US statutes that define as a minor any person below the age of 18 do have a sound basis in human physiology and common sense, despite what the super-liberal Dutch may have or wish to add in their own law-books.

I retract my emotional reference to people being herded unto trains and apologize to anyone who took offense to that outburst, but I very strongly agree with the laws of most civilized countries that stigmatize and punish any person who either engages or expresses a desire to engage in (statutory rape) sex with children below 16 or better 18, as such adults do qualify to be labelled as child-molesters who pose a hidden but grave danger to any human society.

There is a world of difference between what goes on between consenting adults of any sexual orientation, and the cruel, exploitative and medically perilous predations of child-molesters whose victims are minors in the eyes of the law and the medical profession.  That deranged group of child-assaulting basket-cases in Holland will very quickly fade into obscurity or jail, along with their bizarre quest for the formation of a dedicated political party to pomote their sick lifestyle.

well, thats not a complete surprise considering that Holland is always on the "cutting edge" on social issues. I beleive marijuana(MJ) is legal and prostitution too. For me this goes back to the discussion at what age is one mature enough for sex. Setting the age 16/18/21 is just a way of staying on the safe side and I think it should remain so.

I frankly think these characters have had too much too eat and drink. Someone should send them to Somalia quick, where the sheer struggle for survival will focus their minds on more serious issues than what age they can start pawing and poking their neighbours impressionable kids. Well, I just did some research and it seems the Nigerian Criminal code does not spell things out in black and white, _{plenty of loopholes like most of our laws}.

The criminal code does not seem to state a definite age of consent, but it provides for life imprisonment for any person that has "unlawful carnal knowledge of a girl under the age of 13". It seems to be silent about an age of consent. So definitely, forcible rape under thirteen is criminal, but if the girl is under 13 and says yes, who determines if its lawful or not? _{And those useless politicans were fighting over 3rd term, when our laws were half done.}

I believe the case of Nigeria is not that straight forward.

When you look at the map, some countries outrightly ban sex before marriage. But don't be surprised if you are allowed to marry a 12 year old.

But since Nigeria can't outrightly ban sex before marriage and also set an age for marriage, It was a compromise to simply punish people who have sex with under 13 years by putting them in jail for life.

I guess its because the law is a reflection of a people's culture. Some ethnic groups have long had the tradition of betrothment and it would be wrong to wipe out a culture just like that.

I hope that the law will ban marriage for people under 17. I believe it would only work if the bill is passed now but would not take effect until 2040. By that time all the people who will oppose the bill now would be dead and therefore not worry too much about fighting against it.

I mean how sick this is. I live in Amsterdam and every week you will hear news about these sick people molesting children. If the government don’t act now and stop this party what will people come up in the near future.

So many terrible things happening in Holland, but this is outrageous and stupid.

I don't see that animal sex a problem. It's their problem, not mine. As long as the adult girls are not being forced to degrade themselves by sleeping with animals, how does what they do in private hurt me?

And why should I care about the animals when we all love to eat cow meat, goat meat and sometimes even dog meat? Surely having sex with a human being is not more painful than being butchered. They might even like it.

Err Animal sex is besides the point here IMO. The real point is Child sex. What are your opinions on that? After all, they would be "raping" these kids in private.

I think you should really take these kind of rumors (or friends who've seen it done) with a bucketload of salt.

The rumour about Nigerian girls you're referring to comes from a real case where a few Nigerian girls were kidnapped in Belgium, brough to the Netherlands, tortured and forced to have sex with animals and other degrading acts. Luckily, the perpetrators are convicted and put behind lock and key.

Whenever something deviates from the norm, people start to have all sorts of wicked and weird phantasies. Sometimes I wonder if the people phantasising aren't the weird ones.

Back to the topic at hand, as long as an organisation doesn't break the law, it can do whatever it pleases. Rest assured though that that political party will be monitored very closely by the police.
