Head of the Subsidy Reinvestment Programme, SURE-P for short, Dr. Christopher says Nigerians need to reflect on a proposed constitutional amendment that would give the occupier of the offices of Senate President and Speaker of the House of Representatives pension for life.

He says he doesn’t think the country can afford such expensive venture and wonders why no one is saying anything.

But honestly speaking why should the senate president or indeed anybody in the house of assembly be on a pension ? Thats simply ridiculous i say. In fact they should all have a 70% slash monthly in their take home pay like the Kenyans since as far as i know this is a part time job. Lets free the cash for other more important things in this country.
