Alot has been said about Governance & the people it rules.its being so difficult to satisfy any set/group of people during governance, even the Best of government stil have unsettled issues.
This Opinion poll is not to create any diversion of any sort saying Governor A is better than Governor B but to let us know why ur preferred governor shud be the Best performing Governor regardless ur state of Origin.
its ur View,let it Count!

Gov Godswill Akpabio of Akwa Ibom State. 1.He has set a standard for infrastructural developments for both present and future governors in Nigeria. 2.Free and compulsory primary and secondary school education, 3.provision of free medical care for under 5, pregnant women and elderly 4 provision of micro loan facility (without interest) for widows.. Weakness: 1 not creating enough employment opportunities for the youths. 2. Inability to convince investors to do business in the state to enhance employment opportunities for the youth. I score him 63%.

None of them to be honest. Nigerians have suffered so much that anybody that gives them a facility that should be their basic right, they start to praise the person.

Based on the most bang for the buck , sustenability and forward looking projects
There is only one fashola.the guy is basically governing the most industrlized "country" in west Africa with his hands tied behind his back.
Ibikunle Amosun in OGUN state is also doing stuffs that will make most derivation collecting states to bow their head in shame.
My premise is based on the fact that these two states are spending there money where their core strength lie.not on gigantic resource sucking monuments to waste or outright pillaging.
OGUN state is presently positioning herself to claim a larger share from the industrial and commercial spill over from Lagos as well as drawing back some of the wealth of her indigens from Lagos and diaspora.already, she is achieving some success in this regard.
ondo state ,where mimiko is busy spending oil money without putting resources in her core strength, is a big fail for me
Cash crops like cocoa ,cashew, coconut and oil palm are capable of increasing the GDP of the state 8 fold within 4yrs.
Oyo state ,despite the best effort of the governor is still punching far below her weight.
While the locust years of the akalas are behind us and seeing that ajimobi is doing a lot on the ground,
I do not think it is still enough.
The urgency of the need to rectify this situation is due to the fact that the fate of osun ,ondo, kwara and ekiti lie with it.
I personally will like to see the governor embark on forward looking, resource generating projects with the same attitude as the lekki FTZ,OKFTZ ,EKO Atlantic.
A confidence building project of those type will ensure the state's hybrid of commercial/industrial/agricultural economy is ready for the 21st century.
A New purpose built business district can change the face of the state and positioning as the chief agricultural distribution and food packaging centre will do a lot of good.

The rest of the country is beyond scrutiny.
Akwa ibom and bayelsa with their low population(3million according to the census but realistically more like 1.5 million ought to have the largest middle class/capita based on government spending alone.but these states contain some of the poorest people in the country ;often rivalling the core north. Bayelsa rivals maiduguri and plateau as the most lawless place in nigeira.
Delta state is a basket case. A state ruled by gangsters
Rivers state is grappling with problems similar to those of Lagos state but at a lower level.
If amaechi was able to do what he did under the colossal grip of PDP and the share money mentality of the rivers state elite, only God knows what he would have been able to do without the laggards on his neck.
The middle belt state like benue ,kwara, kogi, nassarawa ,niger and plateau are a lost cause.
In fact I think these states should be placed under recievership and placed under a competent corporate administrator.the absence of civil society ,press and the manipulation of rural folks is probably responsible for most of the problem here.
They are all governed by incompetent kleptomaniac who spend most of their time gallivanting around Abuja than they spend in their respective states.
also there are a lot of conflicts in this region.
NW/NE states of Kano ,sokoto, etc are still not emphasing formal education and enforcing it.The governors here are also guilty of big time corruption, building monuments and utilising the state's revenue to celebrate weddings ,parties and prigrimages .the violence attributed to AK47 toting cattle readers is also not being given attention .the boko haram problem is an offshoot of this failure.
SE states of anambra,Enugu ,Abia ,imo, ebonyi are punching below their weight.
This may be due to the fact that these states are just cannon fodders for national elections and as such ,the zone projects politician willing to play the part.
The region also exports her problems while the politicians export the region's wealth to their personal accounts.
This region is one of the worst regions to be born poor .
The linear settlement pattern in much of the zones has also ensure that sectionalism is rampant and this leaves little space for agriculture.
It also means that the people here have little relationship with the government and this reflect in the way politics is played and the associated level of development

SUMMARY -VIOLENCE/INSTABILYY ,CORRUPT/INCOMPETENT LEADERSHIP ,ILLITERACY,KIDNAPPING,LACK OF SOCIAL AND EDUCATIONAL AMMENITIES,LACK OF MIDDLE CLASS/WORKING CLASS,POOR INFRASTRUCTURE ,TRIBALISM AND A UNITARY SYSTEM OF GOVERNMENT

HAS ENSURED THAT NIGERIA IS NOT MOVING FORWARD,ANYTIME SOON
