POLITICS: House of Reps Spokesman Confirms our report on Tambuwal’s Alignment with ‘New PDP’

LEGISREPORTS NG – Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Media and Public Affairs, Hon. Zakari Mohammed, has confirmed LEGISREPORTS exclusive on Sunday that Speaker of the House, Aminu Tambuwal was indeed part of the plot to break the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) through a splinter group.

The speaker, we reported was in the thick of the plan by former vice president, Atiku Abubakar and 7 state governors to walk out of the PDP convention holding at the Eagles Square on Saturday and start a parallel executives led by Mr. Abubakar Baraje.

Confirming our exclusive, Mohammed told journalists that Speaker Tambuwal is part of the Baraje splinter group. He said: “Tambuwal is a man of the majority and therefore naturally belongs to the new PDP, which is progressive and responsive.

“Although I cannot speak for the honourable speaker, I can confirm that he is the people’s speaker; he is the speaker for all and so would naturally flow with the majority. Besides, he cannot abandon his governor in the struggle. He is from Sokoto State and the Governor, Aliyu Wamakko is a prime mover of this PDP, so he cannot be missing in action. But it is left for you to read the writing on the wall.

“We have to support our leaders and governors to reposition our great party and those who are with us are the majority. Anybody who is on the other side should better have a rethink.”

Although the speaker is part of the Baraje plot, he could not however join the breakaway group on Saturday because it would amount to a sharp contradiction of his person and office having addressed the convention that Saturday as a leader of the national assembly.

ckkris: Shivering how? The same Obasanjo that instigated them, has returned to Jonathan the moment he Obasanjo saw that Atiku had hijacked the r6. And Jonathan is in full control of his party's structure. In fact President Jonathan has never been politically stronger than he is today.
