They way some nairalanders spew unreasonable trash is hilarious! The current nigerian army strength stands at 120,000+ troops, backed up by men of the Directorate of state security(SSS), Navy SBS and AirFORCE infantry men, deploying just a battalion doesnt take anything from the war in the NorthEast considering there are over 30 battalions of troops in the Statae of Emergency Zones.

Why not send them to the Congo where millions have died? People here are saying send them to Syria. That is not our war in Syria. We should care about Africa first before anything. Slave mentality.

a mere 700 troops deployment is less than 5% of the strenght of only nigerian army alone. we are undoubtly african superpower for God sake.
Re: Nigeria To Deploy Soldiers For Peace-Keeping In Liberia- Army by OLASODE2K: 6:36pm On Sep 08, 2013
The truth is that the nigerian military is bigger than the combined strenghts of the other 15 ecowas countries both in numbers of personnel as well as in the numbers of equipment holdings. Incidentally too, we have the best trained too.

no wonder, the americans will always call us to do some serious fire fighting in the region rather than call a 7,000 strong ghanain armed forces who were too afraid to even fight the rebels during the liberian and sierra leonian wars. u know why? most of these rebels were better armed than the 5,000 man strong ghanaian army. the ghanians didnt have any weapons heavier than morters and armoured cars. meaning no artillery and tanks which nigerians have been using in large numbers since the biafra war.
Re: Nigeria To Deploy Soldiers For Peace-Keeping In Liberia- Army by OLASODE2K: 7:01pm On Sep 08, 2013
the ghanians were forced to go and buy artillery in the sierra leonian war when they saw the RUF rebels using captured guienian artillery pieces. up till now, the 5,000 strong army has no tanks but only armoured cars. even charles taylor only trusted the nigerian soldiers with his life when he was the president that he made nigerian soldiers his guards and adc throughout his presidency despite his anti nigerian stance on most issues. u know why? he knew only nigerian soldiers wont desert him when the going goes tough.
Re: Nigeria To Deploy Soldiers For Peace-Keeping In Liberia- Army by OLASODE2K: 7:17pm On Sep 08, 2013
nigeria is dead the day the americans go and call any other military to go and put put fires in the region. even countries like guinea bissau former president who was a great critic of nigerian interventions in both liberia and sierra leone rejected a francophone countries attempt to rescie him when his presidential palace was surrounded by rebels. u know why? he specifically requested for a nigerian led rescue team. but the nigerians wasted no time in making an example of him and bluntly to go so that others like can learn from him until he was overthrown.

Nigerians(American puppets) are over there to protect another American puppet(sirleaf) the population is against her , the natives are discriminated and she brought a new kind of nepotism...if Nigerians leave tho they can't, the natives will simply slaughter her and her family. Since she thinks natives can't hold any key positions. Fcking slaves

Exactly, We the Nigerian Masses are just puppet by proxy, since the americans control out leaders they also control us.

Do you remember how General Malu ensured peace in Liberia, and worked with the Liberian Indegenes to bring the peices of Liberia together under ECOMOG then after AMericans and their nigerian operators killed abacha and installed Obasanjo they called in American forces to start all over and colonised the nation, putting back the same things and evils that caused the war.

In the words of General Malu - We should teach amerians how to do peace keeping not them teah our soldiers. Anywhere they have been for peacekeeping would see eternal war(Iraq,Afghan,Serbia, Nicaragua,Congo etc) but nigerian did it and did it well only for our puppet leaders to sell us out again.

Can you give me more info on the Liberian war a couple years ago and what Nigeria did there?

igbo2011:

The role of ECOMOG troops under Nigeria was large and complex but these objectives summarizes it and it was all achieved and was exemplary.

In August 1990, the 16-member ECOWAS agreed to deploy a joint military intervention force, the Economic Community Monitoring Group (ECOMOG), and place it under Nigerian leadership. The mission later included troops from non-ECOWAS countries, including Uganda and Tanzania. ECOMOG’s objectives were to impose a cease-fire; help Liberians establish an interim government until elections could be held; stop the killing of innocent civilians; and ensure the safe evacuation of foreign nationals. ECOMOG also sought to prevent the conflict from spreading into neighboring states, which share a complex history of state, economic, and ethno-linguistic social relations with Liberia.

Liberia was peaceful and ECOMOG maintained peace and everything was getting back to normal until the West and their pimps killed Abacha and Obasanjo invited the US to take over strategic operations in Liberia, as expected the second Liberian Civil War broke out again.
The role of Obasanjo and his US cohorts on the Liberian crisis is why he is distrusted all over Africa to this day, reduced the respect and Influence of Nigeria in Africa, and set Liberia to a path of destruction.

General Malu had a quarrel with him over his decision to hand Liberia over to US administration.

Louis Farahkan was talking about how the west killed Abacha. Why was that?
