For the second time, some members of the Living Faith Church Worldwide, better known as Winners Chapel have attacked another set of officials of Ogun State Government.

A reporter and cameraman of the state television station, OGTV, were the latest victims.

The State Commisioner for Information and Strategy,Alhaji Yusuph Olaniyonu, identified the assaulted officials as Mr Peter Falomo, a reporter with OGTV and his cameraman, Lekan Egunjobi.

The duo, according to the statement by the commissioner, were severely beaten and their camera was damaged when they went to the Ota premises of the church to cover the service of building inspection notices by officials of the Ministry Of Urban and Physical Planning.

The video camera of the TV crew was forcibly seized and damaged in the process. The camera was only released after the recording had been wiped off.

“Apart from the TV crew, two officials of the Ministry were also injured by the irate church members who prevented the team from entering the premises.

“The assault was witnessed by the Head Pastor of the Church, Bishop David Oyedepo who equally was visibly angry by the decision of the officials to attempt to carry out their statutory duties in his church premises.

“At a point, the Bishop was saying unprintable things while querying the audacity of the state officials to attempt to regulate building of structures for commercial purposes in his church premises.

” The officials of the Ministry of Urban and Physical Planning who were accompanied by policemen had, following the previous day similar assault of their counterparts in the OGIRS, earlier made a report of their planned visit to the Winners Chapel premises at the Divisional Police Station, Onipanu, Ota”,the statement read in parts.

Those wounded were taken to the General hospital in Ota where they were treated and subsequently discharged.

It was gathered that the matter has also been reported to the police.

Commenting on the development, the General Manager in the Ogun State Urban and Physical Planning Board, Mr Stephen Adewolu, who was part of the team that was molested in Ota, expressed shock at the lawlessness displayed by the Winners Chapel members and their leaders.

According to him,”No organisation can carry on as if it is above the law. We have information that the people in that church are just building structures indiscriminately without building approval, without necessary environmental impact assessment reports and they are violating planning laws and regulations.

” We only went there to serve statutory notices on the on-going building development and they are behaving as if the premises of the church is not covered by the laws of the state in which it is located”, he said.

The State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice,Mrs Abimbola Akeredolu confirmed to our correspondent that her Ministry is studying the the facts on the two incidents with a view to take appropriate legal measures.

Also, officials of the Winners Chapel had shunned meetings of the Stakeholders Forum established by the state government for representatives of organisations located in the state to deliberate with the government on issues of common interest, particularly compliance with extant laws on physical planning and taxation.

On Thursday afternoon, security personnel of the Kingdom Heritage Nursery and Primary School, a commercial venture located within the complex of Winners Chapel, had violently assaulted tax officials and damaged assets of the Ogun State Internal Revenue Service (OGIRS).

I guess the god of Men (goM) has been too busy identifying PROSPERITY passages in the Bible and forgot this very important passage:

Paying Taxes to Caesar

15 Then went the Pharisees, and took counsel how they might entangle him in his talk.
16 And they sent out unto him their disciples with the Herodians, saying, Master, we know that thou art true, and teachest the way of God in truth, neither carest thou for any man: for thou regardest not the person of men.
17 Tell us therefore, What thinkest thou? Is it lawful to give tribute unto Caesar, or not?
18 But Jesus perceived their wickedness, and said, Why tempt ye me, ye hypocrites?
19 Shew me the tribute money. And they brought unto him a penny.
20 And he saith unto them, Whose is this image and superscription
21 They say unto him, Caesar's. Then saith he unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's; and unto God the things that are God's.

22 When they had heard these words, they marvelled, and left him, and went their way.

Revealed: Plane On Lagos Road Owned By Omotola's Hubby [Pictures]

Yesterday, many Lagosians, especially those around Igando area of the state, woke up to see an 'American Wonder' in their neighbourhood. It was a plane that was parked at a filling station in the area called Dapsey.
Immediately, rumour filled social media platforms and some blogs that another plane crash had occurred, which caused scare until NEMA debunked the rumour and said the plane was an old jet being towed to a dump site.
But now, it has been revealed that the small plane is actually owned by the husband of Nollywood star, Omotola Jalade Ekeinde, Capt Mathew, who is a Nigerian pilot.
According to information gathered, the plane was released to Omotola's hubby for an educational use in Badagry. The jet was being towed at midnight from the Lagos airport to Badagry, when it developed a burst tyre.
When it was realised that it would be difficult to take the plane to Badagry with burst tyre, it was advised to be parked at the petrol station at about 2am.

The plane was formally owned by late Pastor Gabriel Oduyemi of Bethel Ministry, Lagos, before Capt Mathew request to have it.

This Oyedepo is nothing but a thuggish crook and conman. In the picture below, the man to the extreme left in the picture, wearing glasses, is the twin brother of a paedophile pastor convicted in the UK for having sex with an under-aged boy. A ministry of miscreants, prosperity preachers, child-molesters and blood-sucking vultures. The hottest part of hell is reserved for these charlatans and evil parasites.

Part of the problem may be the over-religiosity of political leaders themselves. After all, is your 'messiah' GEJ not constantly bowing/kneeling before one man of god or the other? Many African leaders are a disgrace in this regard. While in Ghana earlier this year, an influential opposition Politician told me of how the current President sponsored many 'prayer warriors' abroad expensively, with national outcry against such profligacy, to pray for his win at the appeal court and other "sundry issues".

Same way Yar Adua was close to death yet marabouts from all over the world were being flown in to pray for him and keep him alive instead of folks just dedicating themselves to doing what is right before God and man.

Left to me, I will deal with Oyedepo ruthlessly and wait for any "judgement" God cares to pass on me for taking down a lawless individual who thinks his position as a ' man of god' places him above the law.

Honestly, the situation in Nigeria is getting worse by the day. The problem is moving from the leaders to the followers.

Watch how the church members will come here to foolishly and ignorantly defend these ungodly actions of the church.

Our people have been brainwashed beyond imagination! Our people are literate but they lack enlightenment. They have embraced religion without godliness. They are building churches but they lack Christ. They carry Bibles about without imbibing any word of God. They celebrate pastors slavishly and deride anyone that says anything to the contrary.

Where in the civilized world can a private institution brazenly do this against a government? shocked

I do sincerely hope that the state government would do the needful! They should institute cases of assault, wilful destruction and impeding government officials in the performance of their duties. This is not to talk of tax evasion which is very grave. The government must also gain access by all means into the place to do its rightful job.

Oyedepo has been getting away with too many indiscretion and thuggish actions. He slapped a young girl with impunity and has twice violently refused entry to lawful agents of the state.

If he gets away with this again, it will embolden others to break the law.

Religion has a way of suppressing questions and harbouring shock-absorbers/self-sustaining clauses with which it protects itself.

Religion remains Brainwashing Sponge Number 1. Even with this affront, so many of the church members will dogmatically and thoughtlessly defend him. Yet they claim to be educated. Education without liberation of mind.

Religion provides hiding places. You can commit all atrocities and get away with it and hide under 'touch not my annointed'.

You can commit heinous crimes and get people to say 'who has not sinned before should cast the first stone'

You can promise people miracles, collect money from them and fail to deliver and still hide under 'that's how God wants it'. There is no money back guarantee.

You can be a hardened criminal all your life and hope to change a few minutes before you die, or sleep with your female church members in a London penthouse. If people criticize you, you can hide under 'thou shall not judge'

Even those who brought the religion to us have moved on, to their benefit, while we (the later joiners) continue to wallow in ignorance, dogma, and brainwashing.

How should the people learn in nigeria that they have to pay tax when the churches with the big money don't pay tax.

Churches should preach moral but this brings not money to the churches.

Nigerian new churches are tha badest churches in the world. They make that corruption is growing in this country when a pastor only want money but he don't want to know from where the money come.

A thief who stole money and bring it later the half ot it to the church will get the blessing from his pastor.
A thief who stole money from the goverment and give most of this money to the pastor will get blessing from the pastor because he makes the pastor rich.

A thief will never say anything against an other thief.

Nigeria is a country where thiefs called great man of god.

Devil's Advocate: Does the law allow the service of statutory notices by means of entering into private premises without the consent of the owner of the premises?

Here in the UK, you can serve statutory tax notices by post but if you wish to serve it in person and require entrance into private premises, you have to have either the consent of the premises' owner/occupier or the backing of a court order. I suspect that Nigeria is the same.

Does Ogun state have legal authority, arising from a court order or statute, to demand entry without consent? If not, then trying to force your way into someone's private property may be deemed as breaking and entering in response to which the owner/occupier can use reasonable force to remove the ''trespasser''. Of course, if Ogun state does then it is a simple matter and the church people should be made to face the full force of the law. If not, then hyperventilating in the media is a waste of time and they are best served by applying for a court order to demand entry.

True.

But I guess they're trying to give him a long rope because religion is involved. Religion is a sensitive matter and in a country like Nigeria where sentiments run deep, it's good to be restrained before going for the offensive, by which time many people would not mind if the government goes for a showdown.

Oyedepo's cup is almost full. This is one affront too many.

Obj save Oyedepo
*Oyedepo in trouble with Obasanjo over
support of incumbent President *How
RCCG leader advised Jonathan, not to
run for a second term.

After last week Thursday's Abuja meeting
with President Goodluck Jonathan with
some Pentecostal pastors including Bishops
David Oyedepo of Winners Chapel and Felix
Omobude, the PFN president, PDP political
strategists are unconvinced how much the
pastors can truly deliver on their promises to help the president.
It would be recalled that at the secret meeting
in Abuja, President Jonathan confessed,
"Osinbajo is my problem." According to those at
the meeting, the President added, "everything
was okay until APC picked Osinbajo."
It is believed that this conclusion was reached
by the President after extensive discussions
with his political advisers and strategists on the
APC's choice of the law professor - pastor of the
RCCG as General Muhamadu Buhari's running
mate.
A source at the meeting said while offers of oil
blocks are being made to some of the top
pastors at the meeting, PDP strategists are
warning the president that General Muhamadu
Buhari's running mate, Pastor Yemi Osinbajo is
not just a senior pastor trained by the General
Overseer of the RCCG, Pastor E.A. Adeboye, but
a beloved spiritual son of the highly respected
religious leader.
The concern of the PDP strategists is that their
promises to support Jonathan's second term
ambition may not after all hold much water.
Said another source, "Adeboye values loyalty
and Osinbajo is widely known to be very loyal
to the General Overseer of the RCCG."
President Jonathan's political strategists are
believed to be looking for means to break that
bond, but the General Overseer has simply
refused to allow himself to be so politically
encumbered.
A source said, for instance, that Adeboye did
not attend the meeting last Thursday as he has
said he would be apolitical since there are
members of the church in both APC and PDP.
But PDP strategists say coming from the same
Pastor who publicly blessed Jonathan before
the 2011 election, that was a sign things have
changed.
Perhaps not sure of the kind of reception,
Jonathan himself had last month stayed away
from the December 2014 Holy Ghost Congress,
the same event in 2010 where "Daddy G.O" , as
he is fondly called by RCCG members, had
publicly blessed him. Only a minister from his
government, Dr. Tammy Wenike Danagogo,
Sports Minister was in attendance and being an
RCCG member, the minister was not introduced
as representing Jonathan at the event.
One of the very close pastors to the RCCG
leader said Jonathan's absence from that event
" was a mistake on the president's part."
Some PDP members also point to the public
appearance of Pastor Adeboye with General
Buhari at the New Year thanksgiving service of
Lagos State as proof that Adeboye will not
abandon his spiritual children whenever they
need him. The PDP strategists are also
reminding President Jonathan that Adeboye
okayed it that Osinbajo should accept the offer
of a running mate from General Buhari even
before it was eventually decided and
announced by General Buhari.
An RCCG inside source said "Pastor Adeboye is
known to have helped some of his pastors and
spiritual sons even when they err and fall into
troubles, why then do you think, he will not do
everything to help his loyal pastor who is being
promoted in answer to his prayers."
The source said in training many of his pastors
several years back, Pastor Adeboye had always
given them his word that he would personally
be there for them in their hour of need, a
promise he has endured to fulfill even under very challenging circumstances.
There is therefore an acute confusion among
PDP Campaign leaders, and the president's
advisers on the effectiveness of the secret
meeting held last week with the pastors,
especially after SAHARAREPORTERS broke the
story, and exposing the division among the
pastors who attended.
Now, President Jonathan is being advised to do
more, possibly to reach out directly to the
General Overseer for a more public outing with
him as the elections draw near. For instance,
they cited the impact of Pastor Adeboye's
presence a the President's adopted daughter's
wedding ceremony earlier this January 2015 in
Abuja. It is believed that after his public
appearance with General Buhari earlier in
January at the annual thanksgiving service,
Adeboye's visit to the wedding in the
president's family restored some hope of his
"neutrality."
However inside sources at the RCCG say Pastor
Adeboye is not very particularly enamoured of
President Jonathan because as the source
disclosed "the president has not been as
obedient to Pastor Adeboye as one would
expect."
For instance, the source said Adeboye had
asked Jonathan, not to run for a second term,
and instead choose to support someone else,
but Jonathan said ok, but still went ahead to
run. This happened even before Osinbajo's
name was mentioned as a serious potential
running mate.
Others say Adeboye's close relationship with
Obasanjo, is another reason he could not
possibly support the president the way he did in
2011.
On the other hand, there are those on the APC
side who think that Pastor Adeboye should do
more, now that a very senior pastor he
personally loves and counsels is on the
presidential ticket, a first in the history of RCCG,
the fastest growing church in Africa.
APC members also discount Pastor Adeboye's
attendance at the recent Jonathan 's daughter's
wedding in Abuja, saying even former President
Olusegun Obasanjo was there.
Meanwhile, Bishop David Oyedepo may have
run into trouble with former President Olusegun
Obasanjo over his role in the secret meeting
with other PFN pastors in Abuja last week.
A source revealed after the news of the
meeting became public knowledge that it was
Obasanjo who had saved Oyedepo's neck when
he ran foul of the law in Ogun State and the
APC Governor Ibikunle Amosun's government
was perfecting his arrest and prosecution.
Bishop Oyedepo's aides had assaulted some
state government staff who were on visitation
to one of the schools owned by the Bishop for
assessment. It was alleged that it was Oyedepo
who ordered the assault on the officials,
provoking the government to threaten legal and
criminal charges against him.
In the circumstances, Oyedepo reportedly ran
to Obasanjo, who then asked him to come over
right away to his residence, where the former
president also invited Governor Amosun to
amicably resolve the matter.

A source said Obasanjo may have been
disappointed that despite Oyedepo's personal
knowledge of his disavowal of Jonathan, the
Bishop was still working hard to support his second term ambition.
