By the way, where is that useless Gbawe, saying Nigeria is moving backwards and Jonathan is confused, just shows how illogical, emotion-driven APC goons are

Kindly tell us who built the Lagos own power plant you are talking about. Their are two power plant in ABA, the one we are discussing here is privately owned by Geometric and it was designed to serve aba. It won't be going on the national grid. It will be a thing of joy if all local government in the south west build their own power plant.
The second power plant located at alaoji is the one that will go on the national grid.

tinubu built the power plant, the problem is the constitution,it place distribution of electricity for commercial purpose in the exclusive list, which means if you want to sell power on commercial level you have to put it on national grid.btw the power plant is a nice thing, healthy rivalry is what we want to speed up development in the country.

Don't be too hasty to claim 100% glory.

ABUJA – The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission, NERC, Dr. Sam Amadi, has said that there has been little or no difference in the state of power supply in the country since the power reform was initiated by former president Olusegun Obasanjo’s government in 2005.

asha 80: unfortunately for nnaji interstate has finally paid the remaining amt.
Interstate has paid for the Enugu Disco before the expiration of the 21 day extension? Could that be true? And when did Interstate pay?

24/7 of electricity will surely bring back good business and fun times back to Enyimba city.
As Ghanaian Highlife musicians used to say in the 80s "Enyimba na Aba oh".

Starting from January 2012, which is
few weeks away, state governments in
Nigeria would formally have the rights
to generate and distribute electricity
power in their domain.
This would be made possible by the
new set of regulations in the works by
the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory
Commission (NERC) guiding
Independent Electricity Distribution
Network Operators and Embedded
Power Generators.
Embedded Generation is when a
power plant is built in a particular
locality and not connected to the
national grid for transmission. The
generated capacity is connected
directly to the distribution network.

oga, that will be a good one,if and when it come to pass,I will be happy for it,trust Lagos, they will abandon ship before you say jack,NERC do not have the power to give state govt to generate, transmit and distribute power for commercial purpose, its a constitutional thing, until they do an amendment, they can only generate, and sell to the national grid, then buy from the national grid and distribute, that to me does not change anything, its just a old wine in a new bottle.

Sam xiu lee: exclusive for Aba metropolis when they didn't allow Lagos to use her own exclusively?my dear its going to be on the National grid or else every local govt will build their own power station.
There is a difference between private and government built power plants, besides Lagos built mini power plants of about 5 mega watts each that was dedicated to the judiciary complex, hospital and some street lights did the FG stop them? States like Akwa Ibom and Rivers that built big power plants that were channelled to the national grid are not even complaining talkless of Lagos. Mind you tthe Alaoji power plant that is also in Aba will be channelled to the national grid. Please do not begrudge Aba, the city is on its way to becoming the first place in Nigeria to withness 24/7 power supply!

at Ozuoba-Portharcourt.I am still speechless 'cos before now we don't see power sometimes 4months or more and when it comes after a long while it goes within 10-20 mins.If this steady supply is sustained I wont hesitate to vot GEJ....period!

I thought i'd post this here.....to continue the stream of 'positive' news coming out of Aba/Abia state. It's been said to be a private initiative so 'hopefully' it will get built......and more importantly; built in accordance with what we see in the 3D video. With this and the expected 24 hours power supply to Aba and its environs, what is needed is for the state and local gov'ts to play their own part and fix ALL inner-city roads in Aba, plants trees, and generally clean up the environment and make it welcoming to investors, shoppers and tourists.

Kudos to the Abia state Governor for attracting this investment, and i can only hope he does more.

The mega mall which is expected to cost one hundred million dollars when completed would be built on an expanse of land measuring about 25,000 square meters along the Enugu-Port Harcourt high way in Osisioma the outskirt of Aba.

In a speech after the signing ceremony, the Abia State Chief Executive, Chief T.A. Orji, expressed delight that investors were now invading the state for various investment projects and assured them of security, peace and progress which has become the bedrock inherent in the state.
Chief Orji said that his government was ready to partner with genuine investors to provide development and employment to the teeming youths stating that Green Field Access Limited would not regret investing in Aba which has a ready market for their products.
Earlier, the Chief Executive Officer of Green Field Access Ltd, Mr Paul Obanua said that the company chose Abia State because of the market potentials and peaceful and economic environment prevalent in the area and assured that the complex would be completed before the present administration winds up in 2015.
He enumerated some number of banks who are in partnership with the company and have shown tremendous interest in establishment of the project in a record time.
