ThaProphet:

Excuse me Mr Officer, do you also know that "apparently"

1. "God forbids wearing of garments that consist of linen and wool" (Leviticus 19: 19)- I bet you that what you are wearing right now is mixed fabric. Don't believe me? Look at the label lol
2. "God also forbids shaving your beard" (Leviticus 19: 27&28) - Like the modern day Jews who practice Judaism with sideburns long enough to tie humans up. Ah! It is the same scripture that says you should not have tattoos. Definately, I am certain that you abide by this also and your face looks like big cotton wool or a bird's nest grin
3. Oh, I thought the beard one was bad. Priests are also not allowed to cut their hair and should not have dreadlocks (Ezekiel 44:20). Seeing as you are preaching God's word here, it is safe to assume you are a priest. You are definately performing priestly duties here. Do you, my brother go to the barber at all? "God doesn't want that!"
4. Usually people who are against tattoos for biblical reasons tend to be against body piercings also. Lets talk nose rings for example. Most christians will say Hell No! (My bad, most will omit the "hell" ). However in Ezekiel 16:12, " And I put a jewel in your nose, earrings in your ears, and a beautiful crown on your head" - God apparently did this himself which means there is nothing wrong with it.

This can continue forever. The hypocrisy christians display is sometimes downright disgusting. I am not accusing you nor do I mean to sound insulting however, my aim is to make you have a rethink. It is silly to isolate a certain part of the scripture to prove doing a certain thing is wrong. This aplies to what I have listed also. If God was talking to the children of Jacob and said they should not do something, it applies to the Children of Jacob only unless otherwise stated don't take it out of the context and put a "one size fits all" label on it. Last time I checked, I am not related to Jacob. I am more likely related to Sango, Oya or Ahmadioha lol.
u cant understand the things of the spirit if you are not in the spirit.your last statement reveals u belong to satan.JESUS is calling you

Really bro? My last statement in an informed and common sense assumption. Truth is that I am more likely related to those I mentioned than a Biblical character (who are usually depicted with white skin and blue eyes).

So brother, what does the spirit say about the other prohibitions I listed? Say, the taboo of shaving for example. It is in Leviticus also. If you honestly believe that tattoos are forbidden, you should also agree that shaving is forbidden.

This is coming from a brother who does not have any tattoo. As a matter of fact, dislike it.

Kenistry: Dat law is not for Christians........but wht u tattooed on u body determines if u r for Christ or not. Christians only hv one law.... Love God and love ur neighbour as ur love urself. Any oda law is for pagans & co, remember d same leviticus says u shldn't cut ur beard, pr is it also a sin to cut it?

.
Christ has fulfilled d law. Am dead to d laws of moses. Halleluyah!

Besides of all the hundreds of laws in the old testament na only that tattoo matter wey you wan use form holiness.

Na you be God, christians are not under any of those damn laws, Jesus the son of God, no Jesus, who ia God said himself, that there is only one commandment, and that's to love your neighbour. All that really matters to God is that humans relate to Him and one another in faith and love.

If you need teaching on righteousness which is of faith, then read the letters of Paul, till you do, you don't know SHyTe about righteousness.

Dey there dey find who draw tattoo, you go soon see angels wey draw tattoo

what will we say then of all our tribal marks? marks found amongst our people? Is circumciaion not a cut on the skin?Or have we sinned when we scribble down numbers on our palm?.The SPIRIT is everything, the flesh has no value.Sin is a breakdown in the relationship between God and man,as a result of an immoral act,for the commandment is to love God and neighbour.A mark in itself carries no value, the intention of the owner of the mark carries the reward or penalty of the mark ,for the heart is what is judged not the flesh. If the mark directs towards sinful actions/pleasures,it is the unfortunate expression of the bearer, and is best removed or covered, outside of that situation leave it to God to read the heart. The best situation is not to have one imho it can be unsightly at old age.The old commandments on bodymarks must have egyptian cults and paganism in mind.

Millenia: It is Like a phlegm to see Christians Tattoo their Bodies, Mostly some Young girls and others who are in church choirs and who attend churches have tattoo on various places of their Bodies.

It is unfortunate to experience this Abominable act and most of then cannot be blamed because they Think they are actually serving God , But they are not serving hm at all.

A lot of things are happening in Christendom world Today and it relates to the amount of spiritual desolation that has come over churches all in the name of carelessness and pleasure and luxury living.A lot of Christians believe going to church's is being born again and that their heart matters instead of their appearance as the false minister's have also deceived them.

However, Leviticus 21:5 forbids making Incisions and tattooing of of any kind on the body, Unfortunately, people of the world place tattoos of my people they have killed on their bodies, People they have lost or dead relatives and living people.

.DEUTERONOMY 14:1 forbids making such tattoo's or incisions of dead people on the living either for any form of memorial or any form of obeisance. No wonder many Christians run into problems of seeing themselves being chased by dead spirits, bad dreams, nightmares, eating and drinking in the dreams, being used as a slaves and sent strange errands because they have tattooed their skin with various images of animals and people.

The other danger in this practice is That Occultists, satanists, and other evil societies use it to sign and covenant people with The devil, Demons. In other words Incision is the Strongest link Of blood covenant between an Individual and Satan or demon spirits. It Brings About satanic Possession, obsession, depression, retrogression, and oppression.

If such has happened to you in Ignorance, you have a solution and is to Break the covenant with whatever Image and spirit or tattoo you put on your body.If it is the Name of an Individual or demon , pray with Isiaiah 14:28 and break such covenants, or seek Deliverance form the church God directs you to as you pray and ask.

Tattoo is a sign you belong to someone

Pls correct this....a lot of things are happening in "christiandom world"......it's either Christendom or christian world ....there's nothing like christiandom world

Yes! Jesus encouraged it by sayn we shld practice it without neglecting d other laws, dat it dosent make sense to keep one n ignore d others. If u want to keep one make sure u keep all. Wat today christians do is keep some n ignore others.

Wow you have designated yourself a judge over him. God is the only one allowed to judge.

@OP; The old testament has a lot of commandments that we do not adhere to. Singling out a particular one because you adhere to it makes you a cheat.

I have some biblical questions?

Do you know that if you come in contact with a woman in her period, you have sinned and must cleanse yourself?(contact here isn't sexual but mere speaking or sitting on same place the woman sat)

Do you know that the old testament preaches an eye for an eye while the new testament preaches otherwise?

Do you know that the old testament preaches adulterous humans should be stoned while Jesus in the new testament preaches forgiveness?

Do you know that the old testament supports divorce but the new testament doesn't except where adultery has been committed?

Do you know that the old testament preached that Israelites were the chosen while the rest of humanity were the condemned but in the new testament Jesus preached that all are equal and chosen in the eyes of his father God?

Do you know that each time you shave a hair on your body, make an incision, eat pork/reptiles, cut a finger nail or wear certain clothe materials you have sinned according to the old testament?

Do you also know that each time you write in an exam that the male sperm fertilise the female ovary to make a baby you have sinned?(the bible makes us to understand that God gives babies, how God does that, the bible didn't say)

Finally do you know that owning things like cars, phone, computer etc makes you a sinner? These are worldly things and the bible is very much against worldly things.

You don't need to open the pages of a history that has been altered by men at different points called bible to know God's will: God gave us a conscience for that even the bible says so.

Never follow a man who always try to defend or find excuses for a short fall, he is done developing.
Anything we see as judgment or accussing finger should be seen as a stop sign for self examination and appraisal.

Iruolycious: Tattooes aren't decent, true. But are christians bound by Lev. 19? No. If u must preach, u must preach d truth and explain to pple where decency comes in. The fact still remains that in as much as tattoos aren't decent, All Laws given thru Moses are no longer binding on christians.
Really? Why then do u pay/collect tithe?

I don't know the biblical aspect of tattoos, but most people that get those are suffering from identity crisis..."Gucci Mane did it, so it must be cool".

"Rihanna did it, so it must be cool". There used to be cultural undertone in some tattoos. However, all these knuckleheads and chicken-heads
are just getting it to latch unto something that is missing in their lives---fulfillment.

So to identify with popular culture, they sheepishly feed off of whatever the media idolizes.

..Just as sagging has become a fad.

spongeback: Old Testament, in the New Testament Jesus tore the curtain in the temple which signifies liberty. You can come worship God just as you are in spirit and in truth. undecided

This reasons some people with tats have decided to stay out of the church and Christianity. I know at least 7 female friends that refused to go church because they are been judged by the tattoos on their body.

There's so many things the bible forbids and we still do it anyway. If you start obeying and going through all the things or commandments in the bible, homie you ain't gonna be able to breath, I tell ya.

I love my first united Methodist church! Come as you are honey smiley

I read it thank you. I also read Leviticus 19:28 as someone quoted it as well. It states

''28 “‘Do not cut your bodies for the dead or put tattoo marks on yourselves. I am the LORD. ''

As someone who once toyed with a small tattoo (some months ago) i was curious so i decided to read the whole chapter because its good to read the whole lot so you get a proper understanding instead of running with one verse and failing to see the full picture.

verse LEV 19: 19 “‘Keep my decrees.

“‘Do not mate different kinds of animals.

“‘Do not plant your field with two kinds of seed. IS THIS PRACTICABLE IN THIS WORLD TODAY.

“‘Do not wear clothing woven of two kinds of material. OK TAKE A LOOK AT WHAT YOU ARE WEARING NOW? DOES THAT MAKE YOU A SINNER. WHAT IS THE LIKELIHOOD YOU ARE WEARING AN ATTIRE MADE OF ONLY ONE KIND OF MATERIAL.

Verse 19 : 27 “‘Do not cut the hair at the sides of your head or clip off the edges of your beard. YOU KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS MOHAWK IS A SIN TOO. grin

I dont know about you sha but if we were to follow most of these old testament scriptures for the priest of those days, we will never ever be able to please God 100%. I still dont intend to have that tatoo by the way so i aint making excuses here. I will do what sits well with my spirit and pleases my maker. You may think its not spiritual enough but lets see which of us will make heaven on the last day.
