press down the volume key in idle mode until the phone vibrates, stop once the phone vibrates.if u go further it will cancel both vibration and ringtone that is total silence.

I sugest u google search it,I av nt seen any successful sony rooting.am using e1 dual which was lucky to get kiktkat (4.4.2),can move apps to mcard.
