Blackberry Finally Agree To $4.7 Billion Buyout Deal With Ontario-based Company by Bubemi: 2:45pm On Sep 24, 2013 |
Just few days after the company announced a net operating loss of nearly $1 billion and to lay off approximately 4,500 workers, stemming largely from the failure of the BlackBerry 10 line of phones that were supposed to revive the company. BlackBerry announced on monday, that they have agreed a buy-out deal of about $4.7 billion with Fairfax Financial Holding which is a Canadian insurance and investment company, and their largest share holder, who currently owns about 10 percent of the company's stock. BlackBerry was once a leader in mobile tech but has been squeezed by rivals Android and Apple, which coincidentally announced record sales of its latest iPhone on Monday. What should we now expect from BlackBerry?? Source: www.forums.habanaija.com/showthread.php?11587-Blackberry-Finally-Agree-To-4-7-billion-Buyout-Deal-With-Ontario-based-company |
