My Nation Nigeria- A Poem By Preceedo by Preceedo(m): 3:04am On Sep 28, 2013 |
MY NATION's LEADERS I woke up And screamed up I was just dropped to the land of mortality Yes, in the maternity I grew up And learnt the National song We were told to shut up It was more than just a song I placed my hand on my chest National pledge they called The Nation's cloth and crest Horse, Eagle and a black land Patriotism was built Like the tower of babel Bricks on brick, at first It made me marvel Days after days Under the morning sun we respected our heroes like legitmate sons I woke up And was told I was a Nigerian I looked up I was still in the same arena Nigeria, Nigeria, Nigeria The name was fun Africa, Africa, Africa My passion began to burn Realities and priorities, clash of interests, negligence of neccessities ruined the Nigeria I knew. A new nation was birthed Underground liquids, Uncommon residues we were blessed with resources Pot-bellied loafers came, administrators they claimed, myopic political enigmas they came en masse and drank our sweet liquids, and away with our residues We were left with nothing to eat the drop from our table we bore heavy burdens we broke stones to marble poor citizens we became Appelation and consideration the fruits was for their kids the seedlings for us to plant they and their children led They drained our blood and their acts drowned us like flood, some to death others stress, we kept quiet in distress. They beat us, we were tamed like horses the reward of our labours went away to favours They smiled to deceive They made long speeches but we never saw any action they spent without moderation No one suffered but the nation Nigeria, earned bad recognition No one purnished the devorers No, It was the nation's fault. The nation's ruin is the leaders' They made us loosers Nigeria blessed by God but cursed by her Lords! Drop your poem about nigeria here |
