See this is something I always think about

How will I die?
When will I die?

Pretty grim thoughts for a lady in her very early twenties.right?

Wrong!

I actually find it very mystifying, the thought of death.not scary at all.

In summary I know I don't wanna go thru an accident or fire.that's got to be horrible cry
But something has to kill a man.right?

most people would like to die of old age.I don't know if I want that.I see very very old people and I feel sorry for them.

I don't wanna grow very old.the guiness-book-of -records kind of old.
I'd rather I get to early old age(70+) and just go to bed and not wake up on anyday I choose.but that's kinda too much to ask isn't it?

But that's how I wanna go.

Or if I have to die of illness, maybe a sudden heart attack.nothing protracted.

So friends over to you.how and when would you like to die? Let the fun begin smiley

I think late eighties or early nineties should do.
I'd prefer it be on a sunday where all my extended family members gather. I'd have a wonderful church service, have a lovely dinner with them all and then silently cross border in my sleep.
So help me God!

I don't want to die. Lol, I'll like to get old, knowing when to die, so I can make peace with God and leave in my sleep. No struggles.

Early to late 60's. By some relatively less painful means. Maybe afta a brief illness. Ironically, I hate those types of deaths.

Er, actually, I don't care very much. I'm too caught up with finishing everything I have to do while alive to worry about dying. Once I'm done, I don't care how I die or when, I just don't wanna hang around after that.

Hmmmm,

What if scientific breakthroughs enabled humans to live healthy as long as they desired and they can choose to end their lives whenever they felt they've had enough? (I believe it's possible. It's not a matter of if, but a matter of when)

What if that breakthrough occured in our lifetime.

I shared the same sentiment with the OP, I don't want to grow too old and suffer complications and sickness and cause my children unnecessary financial burdens.

If I can choose my death, I will prefer to go whenever my health starts failing and scientists haven't yet had a cure for old age complications then. That could not be less than 75, any way.

Death, on the face of it, seemingly is not scary,

Death misused, is death abused; an abnormal use

Adam, perchance too, will tell you that death is not scary
but that it is the sting of death that is ouch, dangerous and causes harm

It is true the thought of death can be emotionally disturbing
on the other hand, it can be a liberating experience as well

There is a good way to die and a not good way to die too

Dying in a fire does not sound like a good way to die

but how about dying in a fire, saving or trying to save another

"But something has to kill a man. Right?" - I read

Well Ecclesiastes 3:2 says "a time to be born and a time to die"

so we are resigned to the fact that people are destined to die and after that to face judgment

We all are on borrowed time and on the day of reckoning, we will give accountability

We all will be called to give account of the five, two or one talent(s) given out

and explain all our activities, after which results will be disclosed

The quantity of years does not count - i.e. number in the years
it is the quality of the years that matters - i.e. service in the years

It is not about the number of years in life, spent on ourselves selfishly
but it is about the number of lives in the years touched when about the Father's business selflessly

God lived 33 years and checked out after/when the final business of the day was done
as to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord

God wants us to DIE too also,
To die daily, continuously dying, dying to self.
Self must and has to die

24 Verily, verily, I say unto you,
Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die,
it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit

^John 12:24 King James Bible "Authorized Version", Cambridge Edition

"how and when would you like to die? Let the fun begin"? - I read
Well, it's about the Father's business.
whether we like to die or not,
I, me and myself must die
as our existence has nothing to with us,
but has all and everything to do with God' will, pleasure and purpose
and none of that Eve jagbanjantis pride of life make one wise stuff
prematurely desiring gain or to be something apart from the will of God

7 Even every one that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea, I have made him
^ Isaiah 43:7 King James Version (KJV)

11 In him we were also chosen,[a] having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will,
^ Ephesians 1:11 New International Version (NIV)

11 Thou art worthy, O Lord,
to receive glory and honour and power:
for thou hast created all things,
and for thy pleasure they are and were created

^ Revelation 4:11 King James Version (KJV)

Death, though at the moment is still relevant,
it has a shelf life
Hurray!

That been said, now is the accepted time
notice, now is the day of salvation
Anyone who reads this can join in the fun
because up to date, now, is a good time and day, to die
That is when the real fun begins.

Deep and insightful points

But you haven't said HOW and WHEN you'd like to die.
In plain and simple English

Saying how or when one will like to die without giving preparatory statements will be oversimplifying death

Death is complex and morphed because of this it would not be reasonable giving answers in plain and simple English

It will be distortion and misleading.

One dies everyday when submitting self, one to another out of reverence for Christ

Now, if pushed on HOW and WHEN I'll like to die

It will have to be HOW Jesus died and WHEN Jesus died

HOW - whilst going about the Father's business, Jesus purposely lived and died for God

and WHEN - at an appointed time, Jesus died at 33 years.

Side line:
The Parable of the Rich Fool:
16And He told them a parable, saying, "The land of a rich man was very productive.
17"And he began reasoning to himself, saying, 'What shall I do, since I have no place to store my crops?
18"Then he said, 'This is what I will do: I will tear down my barns and build larger ones, and there I will store all my grain and my goods.
19And I will say to my soul, "Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years to come; take your ease, eat, drink and be merry."
20"But God said to him, 'You fool! This very night your soul is required of you; and now who will own what you have prepared?'
21"So is the man who stores up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God
."

@Loretta, I guess you have a pretty active and realistic imagination. Death is not something I think of really, maybe that's because of personality. I'm the kind of person who always tried to test the boundaries of my resillience and abilities and I still do. I used to think that maybe during my kid/teenage years, the need to be curious was the reason for it but as I grew into adulthood, I understood that's just my person.
My point here is, I don't really have a when and how I want to die because I think I shouldn't have to anticipate it. Maybe this is because I'm yet to be married and have kids, which in my opinion are good enough reasons to want to stay alive for a long time just to avoid causing pain to the future wife and kids.
At the moment though, my thoughts are more dynamic because I still find myself doing crazy things that might lead to death (testing my resillience). I guess that means I don't really care about dying just yet cos I'm living for myself mostly right now.
Yea sure, my parents(God bless their souls), siblings, friends and girlfriend(past and present) would cry and wail but they'd get over it faster than my kids or wife(if I had) would.

So yeah, sorry for the long writing, but I guess I'm just on a different thought-sequence from others, LoL.
What I do know for certain is if something's gonna kill me, it's either going to be;

-An auto-accident (I drive crazy when in a hurry)
-Drowning (swimming pools are now too small for me, I want to do an open river or lagoon)
-Falling from heights (I love climbing or standing close to the edge of really tall places)
-Ingesting weird food (I can eat any food, no matter what it is).

Once my kids are born, I'm sure I'll care more how long I need to live.
