Wow.

It seems not only Nigerians are happy about our 53rd independence celebration. Even Google has given us a whole day on their home page to spread the love.

If Google(an non-Nigerian entity) can do this little act of goodwill for us once in a year, then we can do the same, and even more too. Nigerians, let us do something, even though its just one good thing for the nation today. Then maybe, just maybe through our collective efforts we can truly become the giant of Africa.

Happy Independce day Nigeria!

God bless Nigeria!

It really is cool.

It's just a shame that Nigerian websites do not have the insight to do the same.

Take Nairaland for example. Will it kill you-know-who to put a simple celebration image on the header of Nairaland?

Thank God at least Linda Ikeji has a post on Nigeria's 53rd independence.

God help us.

God bless Nigeria.

Cool. Google is really doing great in terms of engaging their audience. And do you know they use this kind of design also as a marketing strategy?

Talking about Nairaland, yes, NL should have done something surprising on the home page to mark the Independence celebration. Everybody that visits the home page will be surprised by the new design and will thereby feel the wave of the celebration.

This is important since 90% of Nairaland's members are Nigerians and with the fact the forum's name carries the name of the currency of this great nation.

It's well. We are learning and we are coming up.

lol. To be serious, they ain't ashamed of nothing. If they were, they wouldn't have bothered to add it in the first instance since they are not under any obligation to do so.

The flag is only visible to visitors from Nigeria.
