It finally here, after all the agitation, after all the cries and begging and after all the denial and pretending that all is well with Nigeria, we finally have it. The sovereign national conference to discuss the togetherness of Nigeria and find amicable solutions to challenges confronting our great nation. What's next for us now is to take a good shower, take a deep sleep, rest the head, ask God for guidance and get to work. Starting from the selection process of people who are going represent each region, to the issues to be discuss, to the implementations. This not the time to fight, not the time to play hide 'n' seek, this is time for all the intellectuals, the market women, students, professional, young, old, male, female, city dwellers, urban dwellers, Ibo, Hausa, Yoruba and all the ethnicity that make-up the lent and breath of this country called Nigeria. The fight has began to rescue Nigeria from the clutches of these inconsiderate few and their cohorts, the time has come to stand on our two feet and match in unison to this promise land where we are no longer second class citizen, where freedom, justice, peace and rule of law reign supreme.

If we must remain together, the following must hold:
1. Total fiscal federalism MUST be instituted;
2. Office of the president must be rotated among the geopolitical zones;
3. Religious extremism/terrorism must be met with capital punishment;
4. Each region should have a separate identity;
5. Every region should have the power to determine the number of states it wants and fund same.

^^^This is the reason why some groups don't want a 'sovereign' national conference. If the points raised by dereformer are not agreed to then i for one would like to call it curtains on this experiment......but we all know some people would not agree to those conditions, yet would still insist on sharing the same country with me!

Well I know it cannot achieve anything, when national assembly could not successfully create 1 state how do you think the recommendations of SNC work. They will just make some noise. GEJ wins reelection aboki will cool down a little and naija will continue the way it is. simple

How I wish Nija will adopt parliamentry system of government, each region controls its resourses and contribute its quota to the central and the Fed Govt only handles issues of national security, interior & foreign affairs.
