Personally,i don't see anything wrong in wearing the hijab, even though it was a pre-islamic thing, but if you think that wearing hijab is synonymous to being pure, being holy or righteous, then you are on a long thing;it is like sayin an armed robber wearing jalama with a gun in his hand is a pure fellow!
What you wer does not determine who yo are,it is just a clothe,a covering. You can wear a complete hijab and your heart is evil or far from your creator, then you are missing it.

Allah doesnt live in mecca. Other religions dont face a particular place to pray. What happened to just praying?

Anyhoo, thannks for conceeding that I was right on the Quran being silent on abortion
why wont i concede?.i wont fight for Allah. HE will do that for HIMSELF. its not only abortion dat the Quran is silent about. isnt it silent on HOW to say salat?..HOW to pay zakat ? etc. so forget dat yu av a point

as per Allah doesnt live in mecca..yup. he lives everywhere buh we wont face everywhere because
1...Allah to whom we pray has said to where He wants us to face...
2....Allah wants our things to be unified. such that we are called one 'ummah'..so that we will be different from people of other religions who obviously arent an ummah!!!

oga logicbwoy, mr atheist you are trying to deceive people about islam that quran is silent on abortion, for the sake of those who don't know, the quran is for all generations and tribes until the very last day, these generations and tribes have different names for all sort of crimes including killings, but ALLAH in his infinite wisdom and knowledge prohibits all forms of killings e.g murder, suicide, infanticide, abortion, genocide etc you and i know that all these are killings because the unborn baby is alive in its mothers womb, even atheist medical doctors know that.
and ALLAH said in Qur'an chapter 25, verse 68
"Those who invoke not with Allah any other god nor slay such life as Allah has made sacred
except for just cause nor commit Adultery/fornication and any that does this meets punishment"
infact as a student of qur'an i have many verses and hadiths to prove you wrong, islam is not silent on abortion and any other crime for that matter.

babylolaroy only admitted that qur'an is silent on abortion because she does not understand many verses in the qur'an, i will advice babylolaroy to keep seeking for knowledge to avoid this kind of mistake, she also mentioned that i should modify my post about half hijab, my dear there is no such thing as half hijab, is either hijab or no hijab, that is what RASUULULLAH (S.A.W) meant when he described some women in a hadith "women that are covered but still appear naked" nobody is imposing it on you, muslim men and women we all have some difficult tasks ahead of us, let us learn to live with them and submit to ALLAH completely.

you have no right to say i dont understand verses of the quran. Talking of killing and all others, did i not mention them?. buh abortion as a conscise word was not mentioned anywhere. i am not FOR it ofcos, am against it buh truth has got to be told

now to the matter of half hijab, if yu go on making dawah ds way, yu may end up not making a difference...wen people try, yu shud encourage not condemn. if i use half hijab all d way down to my thigh and yu still think i fall under the category of 'clothed buh unclad', then am sorry for yu. it takes patience to call people, dont just jump on them dat its either full or nothing. its not a day job

Am sure babayk didn't mean d@ as an insult, but d truth still remains d@ u dnt understand everytin in d quran, if u do, u will be a scholar, and even scholars hav differences in understanding of some verses.

Secondly, u will agree wif me d@ wen u admitted to atheist abt quran being silent on abortion, u gave him a lifeline and a punchline he will use in debating oda muslims. And since abortion is classified under killing, den d 'verse' u quoted has covered d@. So, not mentioning d word abortion dosent mean d quran is silent on it. Allahu Aallam. (May Allah S.W.A forgive d@ which ive said wrongly)

Abeg shutup.....ummah this....ummah that

Where is your ummah today? Oppressed and belittled by the west, represented with the most backward nations for womenn dependent on western technology.

God has left the ummah. The ummah is ruled by the white western secular man. You dont believe me? Take a look at the technology that muslim countries use for their oil......take a look at how muslim countries engage in riba with the financial dealings woth western companies......

The ummah aint special......sorry babe, port to the brighter side....i will bé there to hold ur hand to guide u thru common sense

Wen a person talks, he shud make provision for what could be interpreted of it. i felt insulted when he said so. i ofcos dont know d whole of the quran buh the little i know, i understand. yu neva can tell. aftarall yu dont know me.
as per admitting to an atheist, the silence of Quran on some matters is nothing to be shameful about. we cant lie. it talks on killing and i said that already. so wats d fuss all about simply because i said the obvious?

May Allah increase our knowledge.

The word "abortion" is not expected to be used in the holy Qur'an for Quran talks many atimes in a general terms to encompass all times.

Abortion or any other form of killing is condemned:

" Do not kill your children for fear of poverty; it
is We Who provide for them as well as for you. Killing them is surely a grave sin.". (Quran 17 vs 31)

babylolaroy, my sister whenever a non muslim publicly says quran is silent on abortion, he or she is just trying to prove that the quran is deficient and our responsibility as muslims is to out rightly oppose him with facts, i'm not covering for the quran because the quran needs no cover, is a super and all perfect book. the quran emphasizes more on acts rather than names, you said he had a point, its obvious, the truth got to be told etc if it's just the concise word "abortion" that is the issue why should it bother you,
you take fruits everyday, mangoes, guava, apples, pineapples, water melon etc
you ride on cars, motorcycle, airplane, train etc
you use the internet, gsm, cable satelite etc
all this were not mention by name in the quran yet you believe they are all halal.
that is because some verses have legalize all of them generally, so saying that the quran is silent on abortion because is not mentioned by name is an understatement and is offensive to muslims.

Q - quran is silent on abortion

A - Quran considers abortion an act of killing and all forms of killings are prohibited under so so verses. period.

we muslims must always remember these verses
chapter 2 verse 147
"The truth is from your Lord, so never be among the doubters"
chapter 4 verse 82
"Do they not ponder on the Quran? If it had been from anyone except Allah, they would surely have found in it much discrepency"

you also said the quran is silent on how to say salat, zakaat, etc
the quran is not silent on any issue whether ancient or modern, over hundreds of verses in the quran ALLAH commanded us to obey and follow RASUULULLAH (S.A.W), e.g chapter 53 verse 3 and 4
"And he speaks not of his own desire"
"That is not but the revelation that is revealed to him"
chapter 33 verse 21
"Indeed in the Messenger of Allah (Muhammad ) you have a good example to follow for him who hopes in (the Meeting with) Allah and the Last Day and remembers Allah much"
chapter 33 verse 36
"It is not fitting for a Believer, man or woman, when a matter has been decided by Allah and His Messenger to have any option about their decision: if any one disobeys Allah and His Messenger, he is indeed on a clearly wrong Path"
chapter 4 verse 59
"O ye who believe! Obey Allah, and obey the Messenger, and those charged with authority among you. If ye differ in anything among yourselves, refer it to Allah and His Messenger, if ye do believe in Allah and the Last Day: That is best, and most suitable for final determination"
so what ever you cant find literally in the quran, the same quran has told you where to get it, the life and commandments of RASUULULLAH (S.A.W), that is why we have books containing quranic verses and hadiths, e.g Risala, Siffatis-sallat NABIY (S.A.W), umdatul ahkam, kitabul azkar, ahkamul janaaiz etc
And no one can question ALLAH why he made it this way because
concluding part of verse 14 of chapter 22
"ALLAH DOES WHAT HE WILL"

And the athiest said ALLAH has abandoned the ummah, that the west is using their technology on arab oil, hmm, the muslim nations will remain in control of oil and gas, gold and uranium yet you said ALLAH has abandoned the ummah, homosexuality, rape, STDs, pornography, drugs pushing, murder, armed robbery, cyber crime, rebellion, abortion etc are more rampant in non muslim countries yet you said ALLAH has abandoned the ummah, the world trade center is Dubai yet you said ALLAH has abandoned the ummah, hundred millions of muslims assemble in saudi arabia for hajj every year and they do it successfully yet you said ALLAH has abandoned the ummah, i can go on and on, no doubt, ALLAH is with us.
