Heartland F.C (formerly known as Iwuanyanwu Nationale 1985-2006) is a Nigerian soccer club based in Owerri. They play their home games at Dan Anyiam Stadium. With local rivals Enugu Rangers, they are one of two Nigerian teams that have never been relegated.

you dey mind d Aboki, you forgot to mention Jim Nwobodo. Nigeria had her success when Igbo men were the chief administrators of the game. This present boss is the only useful Aboki that we've had in that corridor for over 10 decades.

This season is one of their worst ever. They are too close to the edge of relegation.

And how is this sad news to naija football entirely? That part of the country is lacking in football talent, simple. Next season they need to buy players from across the Niger to come back to top flight football. ENYIMBA 4 LIFE!!!
guy u r wrong, as far as futball is concerned no part in naija is short of talent. Dis very team used 2 produce d bulk of green eagles players in those dayz. Dey dominated d league in d 80s, so ur arguemnt is baseless. D problem is d managemnt

Afam4eva: I was hoping they would remain to give the league some color but they only have themselves to blame for this. I hope they come back as soon as possible and not remain in the lower division like Insurance of Benin...My Enugu Rangers remains the only team never to be relegated in the history of the Nigerian premier league.
What a record! Arsenal of Nigeria.

Re: Shooting Stars Finally Relegated by Nobody: 2:17pm On Oct 15, 2013
When your top player is Osaze Odewingies "twin brother" in the person of Gbolaham Salami,it will only be a matter of time before the cracks starts showing in the team no matter the amount of hardwork the management put into the team.

Salami is a very talented player but very temperamental, childish and unproffessional. He is the sort of player that can score great goals to lift his team then mess up his hard work by earning a red card to give opposing team advantage.

One minute he is a good boy with a good football brain, the next min. he is trying to poke the referee in the eye, trying to slap or give his team manager a head butt or even elbowing his team mates.

A team with such character no matter how good you manage them will never progress.

My deepest sympathy to the iicc shooting stars aka 3sc team, their fans and management,

Ever wondered why your side of the Niger only plays football but never administers the sport?

What we may lack in brawns, we surely make up for it in brains.

Now, who's the boss?

Heartland fc has never tasted relegation. Since 1976, still at the elite of the Nigerian league.
Enyimba has been relegated in the past. Infact, Enyimba came from the lower league to join pro league at its formation in 1990.

You got it bro. Politics is simply what's killing our dear club. I have been following that team since 1996, the year we lost to Zamalech FC of Egypt at the ACL final. The advent of democracy brought politics into the team management, which has continually brought decline to the team since 1999. Infact we got relegated in 1999, after winning the league the previous year.

NRI PRIEST:

Iwuanyanwu has been relegated before; Rangers remain the only club of the old that has never kissed relegation.

As for Sutin stars, they need to stop been so sectional. We have a northerner as enyimba coach and we also have easterners coaching in the north.

You are wrong about them recruiting sectionally if you look at the swuad list you will find players from differnt part of the country. for me i will lay the blame squarely on that 'boy' commissioner the son of Lam Adesina who became the commissioner of 3SC rather than sport following the team everywhere putting them under unnecessary pressures telling them cock and bull tales of how the government has 'invested' in them so they must deliver a continental ticket.

A team that can not boast of quality players, the recruitment was very faulty and to cap it all they frustrated Mutiu Adepoju who did a great job for them last season out then the 2 caretaker coaches are not up to scratch for a team that wants to compete amongs the best.

By the way technically they are not relegated yet they can still survive if results other places go their way.

fineheart:

Who said it is only Enugu Rangers that have never been relegated before? Heartland of Owerri (right from when they were called Spart of Owerri to Iwuanyanwu Nationale) have NEVER been relegated before as well.

By the way, what is special about 3SC? They have been relegated many times in past and will continue to suffer the same fate so long as they continue to be sectional in their recruitment of players.

Guy you're a f,ool saying thus rubbish. There are more than 10 non Yoruba players in 3sc. How are they sectional mumu? the same thing goes for the rest of the ibo foo'ls talking shyt about this club.
