For about 2months now this nuisance window has been popping up in my browser"bannersdontwork". Please computer gurus in the house I need your help. Heard its malicious and can cause serious damage to my files plus its a threat to my online privacy. Thanks in anticipation of your valuable help.

Dont know your computer level but seriously its a malware . Wonder what anti virus you use and even if its updated. However. Try this following. If it works fine and ok. Else you might have to take it for physical checking. Step1. Disable any suspicious
startup items.
For Windows XP:
Step: Click Start menu -> click
Run -> type: msconfig in the
search bar -> open System
Configuration Utility -> Disable all
possible startup items including
those of banners site.

Step2. Remove add-ons:
Internet Explorer:
1) Go to Tools -> ‘Manage Add-
ons’;
2) Choose ‘Search Providers’ ->
choose ‘Bing’ search engine or
‘Google’ search engine and make
it default;
3) Select ‘Search Results’ and
click ‘Remove’ to remove it;
4) Go to ‘Tools’ -> ‘Internet
Options’; select ‘General tab’ and
click website, e.g. Google.com.
Click OK to save changes.
Google Chrome
1) Click on ‘Customize and
control’ Google Chrome icon,
select ‘Settings’;
2) Choose ‘Basic Options’;
3) Change Google Chrome’s
homepage to google.com or any
other and click the ‘Manage
Search Engines…’ button;
4) Select ‘Google’ from the list
and make it your default search
engine;
5) Select ‘Search Result’ from
the list to remove it by clicking
the ‘X’ mark.
Mozilla Firefox
1) Click on the magnifier’s icon
and select ‘Manage Search
Engine…’;
2) Choose ‘Search Results’ from
the list and click ‘Remove’ and OK
to save changes;
3) Go to ‘Tools’ -> “Options”.
Reset the startup homepage or
change it to google.com under
‘General tab;

found, please select the item
you wanted to remove.

4. Click on Uninstall button to
remove the program
automatically.
5. If it prompts for confirmation,
please click OK to proceed.

Restart your computer in
Safe Mode with Networking
- After turning On the power of
the computer, just before
Windows start, press F8.
- From the selections, choose
Safe Mode with Networking.
Please use keyboard's arrow up/
down to navigate between
selections and press Enter to
proceed.

Thanks so much . I have checked the list of programmes on my system and i cant find anything dat luks like dat. I even even deleted so many programes i thnk are not useful to me yet d window keeps popping up. And I use windows 8 was unable to follow thru sm of the steps.
